Been coming here for years for their Bollywood night after 11pm.. Have always loved their momos and peanuts with drinks.nThis time we came for dine-in. We ordered quite a few chicken dishes, peanuts, golgappe, momos, nachos, aloo tikki burger with peri peri fries, noodles and cauliflower appetizer, along with beers and cocktail.nnApart from the tandoori momos and peanuts, everything else tasted bad. The food felt cold and tasteless. Lacked flavor and freshness.nWouldn't recommend this place for dine in for the price point as Toronto now has quite a few good Indian food options.nnAlso they charges us 18% gratuity for just a party of 4 !!!
I literally just finished having lunch here in TAMASHA. I decided to try it having just finished an appointment next door. I ordered their Chicken Biryani and Methi Malai Paneer along with a savoury Garlic Naan. I knew it would be a lot for one person but, I am a huge Foodie! I also had to try their Mango Lassi. Ive had many many mango Lassi before, but this version tasted more elevated and that mango taste you love. Gurmail took care of me and provided an amazing service. Although I was alone, I felt very comfortable and enjoyed the atmosphere. I will definitely be back and bring a few friends along.
Visit 1: We made a reservation and came to Tamasha as a group of 4 on a weekend in the evening. We were seated right away, and at first, the restaurant wasn't too busy. When we got the menu, the waiter told us right away that it was happy hour so we could get drinks and apps for 1/2 the price. That was awesome. We wanted to try Tamasha for a while, so we ordered several apps: Tandoori Momos, Sigiri Chicken Tikka, Delhi Special Gol Gappa, and Kolkata street-style Chow mein. For mains, we shared a Mutton Rogan Gosht with white rice and a Butter Chicken with garlic naan not pictured. The food was amazing, and unlike other Indian restaurants where the sauses all taste the same, each item had a unique flavour profile. All the food was delicious and the service was good. They got quite busy with deliveries coming through every 10 mins and more guests came to dine in. Yet the servers were very polite, and anything we asked for was fulfilled in a timely manner. Our food also came out in stages, so we had enough time to finish the first 2 apps before the next 2 came out. Our only regret was ordering the chow mein dish. It was super oily and had too much black pepper, not actual chow mein flavour. It was the only dish we couldn't finish.nVisit 2: We came back to Tamasha with my parents who also enjoyed the food. This time we got the Aloo Tiki and Chicken Kebab along with the Tandoori Momos, Butter Chicken and Mutton Rogan Gosht. The aloo tiki were so good we ordered a second! The chutney and yogurt mixture they serve it with is so delicious and pairs well with the crispy potatoes and sev. I highly recommend this dish for its diverse flavour profile: sweet, tangy, minty, spicy, and savoury.
Tamasha: The Best Place in Mid Town Toronto for Indian Food Lovers with a Twist…We ordered Kolkata Style Chowmein and Chilli Chicken and both of the dishes were Delicious. Also their Ambience and service by Apoorva was next level as we did walk in but still she was able to find a place in 15 mins for us. Also their decor and music played is amazing.nnBelow are my overall ratings for the placennFood Taste: 10nAmbience: 10nService: 10nPortion Size: 8nLocation: 8
This is another of those gems that you want to keep in your back pocket and keep going there again and again. Amazing contemporary outlook on Indian cuisine and the perfect flare. I’m sure I’ll be having a lot more business meals at this location. Don’t forget to ask for cocktails for perfect pairings.
