We came as a party of two with reservations on a weekend. The restaurant was very busy. The decor and ambiance were nice and trendy.nnService seemed quite slow here, and it took a long time from being seated to get served. The table we were at was in the middle of foot traffic and quite rickety, and although I requested a change they did not could not? accommodate me. It was also very loud.nnThe peanut butter espresso martini was pretty solid, which I didn't expect. The pizza was quite average.nnOverall, the setting was a bit too loud and our high-top placement was awkwardly in the middle. The shaky table was a nuisance. Food was nothing special, but the creative cocktails are worth revisiting.nnI'd come back again, for drinks on the patio. If you can grab a booth inside that would be better, but I would avoid the high tops.
Happy hour on the patio is awesome and worth a visit. No lineup and no wait to be seated at 4:30 pm on a weekday. $1 per ounce Ontario house wine. What a deal! Very good housemade mozzarella sticks with truffles and two dips. Totally recommended!
This place is amazing. I have come here three times in the last 2 weeks because of their bruschetta that’s the September monthly special. It is genuinely the best bruschetta I’ve ever had and I’m so sad that it’ll be gone at the end of the month. I’m writing this review partially in the hopes that they will keep it on the menu.nnThe other food items here are super delicious as well. Every pasta, pizza and appetiser I’ve had here has been standout. Everything is so flavourful and memorable. Two of my top choices are their chicken parm sandwich and their fries.nnThe service is also excellent. Every server I’ve had here has been chill, helpful and fun. My most recent server, Ron, said he would tell the menu curator that I’m really hoping the bruschetta will become a permanent item on the menu. My fingers are crossed that it’ll become permanent so I can get it again. Even without the bruschetta, this place is well worth a visit. 10/10 recommend.
I was blown away with this restaurant! The atmosphere & ambiance were amazing. Cozy but not cramped. Dim lighting , trees indoors with fairy lights.nThe food was so good. Probably the best pizza I’ve had in a long time. The gnocchi is so yummy & so we’re the mushroom risotto balls.nThe staff were so kind & attentive especially Alex who brought us a dessert with a candle for my daughter’s bday.nThere’s an outdoor parking lot 2 mins down the road which is super convenientnVery very impressed. Can’t wait to go back
I had such a positive experience dining out at Bar Poet, and it's all thanks to Rob and Stella who truly turned my night around. Initially, things didn't start off great as I hadn't made a reservation, assuming a Tuesday night would be quiet. However, the restaurant was quite packed, and the hostess informed us there were no tables available, which was a bit of a disappointment especially since it was my birthday. The hostess was a bit curt about our lack of reservation, but I decided not to let it ruin the evening.nnWe were told we might find seating outside, which was first come, first serve. Initially, we had to settle for a booth, which was a bit uncomfortable for dining. However, our night took a turn for the better when we encountered the incredible Rob and Stella.nnThese two were fantastic from the get-go. We mentioned that we'd love to move to a picnic table if one became available, and they were on it immediately. As soon as a table opened up, they let us know right away. Their drink and food recommendations were spot on, and they were super attentive throughout the night, making us feel genuinely welcome and comfortable.nnThe pizza, drinks, and pasta were all incredible. While the drinks were a bit on the pricey side compared to the food, the overall experience more than made up for it. Rob and Stella even found out it was my birthday and went above and beyond to ensure I had an amazing evening.nnThese two definitely deserve a raise for their outstanding service. Thanks to Rob and Stella, what could have been a disappointing night turned into a memorable birthday celebration. I can't recommend Bar Poet enough!
