Safari Bar and Grill is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a casual night out or watching a game. The food exceeded my expectations — everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and served hot. The wings and burgers are a must-try, and the drinks are reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back.
This neighborhood restaurant seems to be a popular spot among locals, offering a pub-style menu with something for everyone. Unfortunately, my experience fell a bit short of expectations.nnAfter finding out that my first two choices were unavailable, I settled on the Korean Crispy Fried Chicken Sandwich. While the sandwich wasn’t terrible, it didn’t live up to its name. It wasn’t crispy, and the “Korean” element was unclear—it tasted more like chicken coated in sweet BBQ sauce. The dill pickles were sparse, leaving the sandwich lacking in textures. Thankfully, the sweet potato fries were the highlight, although it would’ve been nice if the chipotle mayo didn’t come with an extra charge.nnAnother person at our table ordered the Power Bowl, which was described as decent but basic, with an overwhelming amount of dried cranberries throwing off the balance. The third dish, Soy Ginger Glazed Tuna Street Tacos with edamame, was also underwhelming. It lacked flavor, with red cabbage and a few dollops of avocado mayo as the only toppings, leaving it feeling uninspired.nnOn the plus side, the second floor featured a party room with several pool tables, and there was a corporate Christmas party happening while we were there, which added a lively atmosphere.nnOverall, the meal didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The two ethnic-inspired dishes we tried could benefit from some tweaking to feel more authentic. That said, it’s possible the menu is tailored to suit local tastes, which might explain the simpler flavors. While it wasn’t my favorite dining experience, it could still appeal to those looking for a casual spot with a laid-back vibe.
The atmosphere of the restaurant felt amazing.nWe were seated on the patio, and the lighting and music were just right.nMichael was our server, and he managed everything for us perfectly.nHe was always available and attentive to anything we needed —nhe even anticipated our needs before we asked.nThank you, Michael, for such a great experience.nThe food was also excellent, with really high quality.
We had a great time this evening! Food was delicious and service was excellent. Our server Puja was wonderful, so kind and welcoming. The owner stopped to chat and check in with us; clearly a staff from the top down who puts a lot of care into what they're doing. New to the area and so glad to have found such a gem this close to home. Looking forward to our next visit!
The strategy is a winning one. The owner hires the best kind of people who have fun while they're working hard just like him. A hands on kind of guy, he is well known to see to a guests needs personally. He and his people build a positive vibe every day that the customer can't get enough of. The food is terrific But tasty enough where some of us eat it too fast and the drinks are great. The only drawback is Avenue Road - a diabolical street that snakes up instead of in a straight line. I sometimes get lost on the way there or home. Dan, Alex X10, Griffin, Rees, Marites, Megan, Jordan, Tabitha et al make it a groovy hang particularly for watching the big game. FIVE Pool tables and ping pong available in the upstairs bar. Whilst there, please be respectful of staff and tip accordingly. Many are young and putting themselves through school.
