Swiss Chalet

The food at this Swiss Chalet was off the charts. Could not have been happier with my full rack of ribs they split them into two, so they could stack them on the same plate; it is hiding there and Caesar salad. I also had a chocolate molten cake with ice cream for dessert.nnThe wine in the picture was for a family member I was eating with, but it did not come with any sort of ice to keep it cool.nnFarnoush, our gracious server, brought us a drink pitcher with ice in it which was nice, but was also difficult to put the wine into it. She had above average service, given how many tables she was serving, but she forgot a side coleslaw for a relative of mine after being asked a couple times for it minor details.nnThe atmosphere was decent, although there was a table of 12 middle school boys with two adults on the other side of the restaurant, so I did find myself having to raise my voice quite a few times to be heard. Kind of diminished the experience of eating out.nnHaving said that, the food was great and the service was above average. I’d recommend eating here.

Update Dec 2024nFood is really good. Only complaint is that 3 times, we ordered the seasoned fries and never got them. If you want seasoned fries don't go to the Carling Ave location.n**********nFood was good with the exception that one of our 1/4 chicken meals was missing a roll, and there was no skin on the chicken. I didn't mention it to our server because she was super busy and literally running around to serve people. The server was great. I didn't catch her name, but she has shoulder-length blonde hair. The atmosphere was good and exceptionally busy when we were there.nnI don't recommend the apple pie. It was very small and flat...

Matt was our server and was VERY fast along with the kitchen staff of course. We showed up at 8:30pm and were out after a drink, main and dessert by 9:04.nnWe'll be back to take advantage of the festive menu and hope to have Matt as our waiter again :

It was my birthday and I decided to order some food from here on my way home, I was excited and all but it was for nothing. This was probably the worst ribs I've ever had, it does not even qualify as bbq. And don't get me started on the sides, none tasted good and I had to toss most away. Overall, a very disappointing experience

Swiss Chalet started business in 1954. I enjoy the consistency of the menu, of course, the rotisserie chicken and chalet sauce they're famous for. As with any chain, restaurant to restaurant can vary but we've always been happy with the food at every location. The service is always good. Carling Ave restaurant has not been overly crowded when we've dined there for lunch on weekdays and the festive special... yummy!! They have special prices on Tuesdays 2 for 1 and kids eat free Wednesdays!
