Ordered take out recently based on the positive reviews and was not disappointed. The rolls/nigiri were generous portions and very high quality. I also like that it's a Japanese mom and pop shop, just feels more authentic. The Unagi Battera and Tamago are delicious. We highly recommend this place for sushi takeout.
Not the easiest place to park and get to but the sushi is really good. Their unatama and spicy salmon roll was fantastic. Their house roll has smoke salmon on top which I’m not really a fan of but I’m sure there are people out there that enjoy it. Lovely family-run business. Heard the lease is up soon and they are unsure of what the future holds so get down and get some sushi!
Very tasty assorted nigiri. High quality ingredients. The only drawback was the uni tasted a bit old and not fresh. Otherwise, everything else was above average for sushi.Food: 4/5
The sockeye sashimi was decent. But I didn't enjoy the maki it was poorly cut so the fish was all smooshed into the rice, it was maybe not the freshest either. I didn't like the texture of the rice used for the maki and nigiri - the rice was all wetly sticking together and it was also maybe a different variety of rice than what I'm used to seeing in sushi. Warning: they put a little wasabi under the fish on all the nigiri. I prefer this, but if you dislike spicy food be aware that their wasabi is on the spicier side.
This place is a gem! I was looking for some sushi for takeout when I left Vancouver. I found this place on google and decided to give it a try. The restaurant does take out only due to the COVID situation. I ordered a 10 pieces nigiri combo, futomaki roll, 5 pieces nigiri & unagi battera. They are delicious! The price is very reasonable around $75 I think? as the nigiri combo includes uni, ama ebi, and ikura. If I go back to Vancouver I will definitely come back again.
Got takeout here on a Thursday. Order was via phone and parking is limited since it’s a busy street alongside Hastings. I was excited to go here because my friend had excellent reviews. However upon trying to pay, their card machine froze. 10 minutes later multiple tap, insert, swipe attempts she said I could take the food and pay the next day if I lived near there. I don’t live close so I had to drive to the TD to get cash. I literally drove to a bank, drove back, parked and paid the full price. The house roll was huge size of my palm and 80% was rice noodles. The avocado was oxidized and the piece fell apart due to the size. I still had to pay full price no discount for my trouble or free food. After eating it my stomach didn’t feel too good a bit nauseous and the sushi didn’t taste that good. Green leaf is better. Overall not a good experience, I feel bad because the owners are nice.
Lovely place run by a couple - both food and service was amazing. Had their deluxe nigiri set and it did not disappoint. Echoing what other reviewers said - order a side of the Tamago Nigiri... You won't regret it!
My girlfriend and I love getting take out from here I don’t believe it is open for dine in. Their menu is small so everything is fresh and very well made. They also make sure to go over your order with you upon pick up so they don’t miss anything. We always leave feeling well taken care of and can’t wait to eat when we get home. Best sushi place in Burnaby Heights!
They are only doing takeout right now so make sure to call in to order ahead. We made the mistake on ordering at the restaurant didn’t know they were not doing dine-in so had to wait in the cold for half an hour. By around 5pm, the wait for takeout was an hour. Ordered the Deluxe Nigiri $31, Assorted Nigiri $19 and Kilala House Roll full roll for $15. Food was delicious and fresh. Definitely a neighborhood gem.
It will be one of my favorite sushi place in Vancouver. Fresh and delicious sushi! I liked Uni nigiri and unagi battera. I will be back soon. Only take out available.
