Honest review: Hidden gem in Burnaby. This place is 10/10 I love love love their Sushi. They have baked sushi which is just too good. The restaurant owner are very chill people you will always get fresh food The only restaurant I goto for Sushi‍
Really really tasty Sushi. The experience in the restaurant was fantastic, very clean and fun atmosphere. the staff very friendly. I loved the mango special roll. Highly, highly recommended if you want to get a sushi fix. Thanks! Parking: Lots of parking in front
This place is sooo good. I think I got the Aburi Wave Oshi and the sauce was SO. GOOD. I would definitely get the oshi again. We also got the Ahi Tuna Poke and the tuna was great, so fresh. For the food, this place is value! I recommend and will definitely be back.
Friend and I were pleasantly surprised to discover this new sushi joint that opened up in the neighborhood. It replaced the old Pacific poke. The staff were friendly. Still training but still pleasant to deal with. We decided to grab different items - Alaska roll - west coast roll - poke roll - hot night roll - salmon oshi - red dragon roll The chef threw in one extra roll as a pleasant surprise! Everything tasted pretty delicious! I was expecting it to taste just ok but it was delicious! I would say 6 out of the 7 items we had were delicious. The only one that had an issue was the one the one with the avocado on top. The rice was a bit on the hard side likely from sitting out for to long but other the. That it was delicious. I definitely recommend coming here to try it out!
I came here a few days ago because I saw that there was a new, highly-rated sushi place near Brentwood. The interior of the place looked clean and welcoming, and the prices seemed reasonable, so I gave it a shot. I ordered a Salmon Wave Plate Combo B from their brunch menu and was pleasantly surprised with the taste of the items and the aesthetics of the dish. That being said, I cannot speak about the sanitary nature or hygiene of this restaurant. I also felt wary about eating each part of the dish for reasons I will describe below. When I was waiting for my order, I noticed that the chef did not use any gloves to handle the food. The cashier also helped out at one point but I wasn't sure if he had washed his hands after handling my cash payment. Of course, they may have washed their hands but my problem lays in the Salmon Oshi in the dish I ordered. I am someone that usually cuts their sushi rolls in half before I eat them. Upon cutting the first Salmon Oshi roll, I found a short strand of hair in the rice. I thought this could be a one-off thing, so I dismissed it. However, when I cut the other Salmon Oshi rolls, I found more strands of hair. There were three Salmon Oshi rolls in total, but there was a strand of hair in each one see photos below. One strand of hair, I could understand because cross-contamination is inevitable. But three? I am sorry to say that I was a bit disgusted. This made me uncomfortable with finishing my dish but I was too nervous to bring it up to the cashier. I wanted to enjoy this place because of its reasonable pricing and aesthetic plating. However, I can't enjoy a restaurant if I do not feel comfortable with its hygienic practices, especially since I will be consuming this food.
I finally found a good sushi place around the Brentwood mall :! If you are in rush and need fresh sushi, you definitely need to check this place. Everything looks really clean and super fresh. It is definitely good quality sushi than other pick up sushi. Reasonable price, tasty sushi, and super fresh! I definitely will come back to try poke bowl and other special rolls <3
I just tried Salmon Wave for the first time. I decided to go with their Salmon Poke bowl, and I have to say, it was absolutely satisfying. The price was really inexpensive, and the portion size along with the quality of the food went beyond what I was expecting. What made the experience even better was the complimentary miso soup that the owner generously offered. It was such a nice gesture.
Service was great, the owner is super friendly. He came out to explain the menu and gave us a few recommendations. We tried the west coast roll, hot night roll, Alaska roll, poke poke roll, red dragon roll, aburi wave oshi and he gave us the baked salmon roll on the house! Everything was delicious except the aburi wave roll was brought from the refrigerated area and the rice was a bit hard and it wasn’t torched? Besides that minor mishap everything tasted really fresh and yummy! Very excited to try the rest of the rolls they have!
I've been eyeing this place ever since we heard that Dave from our other sushi spot we used to go too was opening up a new place!!! They were doing renovations for a couple weeks and I kept seeing Salmon Wave popping up on my Instagram . Hallelujah!!! we had to go do a pickup at Brentwood mall so this was the best chance for me to try this place. It was 1:20pm on Thursday afternoon. Gorgeous out and there was a lot of seating still remaining even though 3 tables were full. People were actually walking in or grabbing takeout. Just entering was clean and was greeted by the waitress:cashier and owner Dave. Dave used to run another place that we frequent too so it's a great surprise!!! We checked out the menu and it even had my hubby favourite roll from the old sushi place called the LION KING ROLL. If you like a fusion of Cali/dynamite roll + cheese and corn, that's the roll to get! I ended up getting the brunch menu set A BAKED ROLL PLATE and it was fresh and I loved the dressing for the salad. It comes with Baked Salmon Roll 1/2, West Coast Roll 1/2 Hi-Five Roll 1/2, Spring mixed Salad & Egg. Guacamole, Pickled Pepper, Baguette, Fruit. I ate the whole plate and I was so happy but super full! We will be back again. Thanks for the friendly and super quick service! I suggest everybody check this place out. Even their fresh poke bowls are way less costlier than everywhere else. Healthy alternatives compared to the fast food or overpriced establishments around the Brentwood area. PLUS THEY'RE OPEN LATE! 11am until 11pm!!!! So whether it's work or you have the munchies, this is the spot. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options the gomae and edamame is good!! Parking: Plenty of parking Kid-friendliness: Spacious Wheelchair accessibility: There’s plenty options for people who don’t like raw or torched seafood!!
Salmon Wave offers an exceptional sushi experience. The sushi is incredibly fresh, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Don't miss the amazing Lion King Roll—the best sushi I've ever tried in the area. Highly recommended!Food: 5/5
