Located close to shopping and dining. Our room overlooked the tidal bore, which was interesting to watch. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The hotel is well taken care of, and the staff is very friendly. The front desk staff provided a list of nearby restaurants, and her recommendation for Italian food turned out to be the best restaurant we have eaten at all summer. Our room initially had a strong odor, but we got used to it. The hotel is close to the road, but was very quiet, even with our window being open.
We were promised a room with parking outside our door unfortunately that didn't happen. We unplugged the tiny fridge as it sounded like a running diesel engine every 20 mins. The bathroom did not meet standard code.nDefinitely not worth $274.00 per night.
Staff was very friendly & welcoming on checkin & checkout.nHotel reception area clean. Breakfast is the regular, eggs, sausages, beans, etc. No complaints. Dining area was clean.nWe were on the second floor facing the road, rooms are small, dated but very clean.nNow, the traffic noise from Main street. Its not so much the traffic as it is loud exhaust on some vehicles. Its loud. I normally can sleep through anything. So no sleep for me. Bring your noise canceling headphones. Ear plugs did not help. I would stay again if i could have rent a drive up room facing the river.
I was at the Rodd Moncton for business and leisure yesterday and was so pleased to see a brand new spa / sauna section!! We sat overlooking the riverfront for some time, just relaxing and enjoying passerbys using the multi-kilometre riverfront trail. The highlight was the newly added spa package!!! After a long weekend of travel and sitting in the car; some R&R in the sauna and hottub was just what my aching body needed. It was clean, cozy and had all we needed, private yet still next to the pool. Lovely!!
Had an amazing time. Hotel staff were amazing. Very accommodating.nPool was lovely. New Hot Tub and Sauna, amazing.
