Coastal Inn Moncton/Dieppe

Oh my. This was an emergency situation and the good people working here ARE MY HEROES.nnI was taking a relaxed, scenic VIA Rail train ride back home to Edmonton…nn…when the conductor announced that the locomotive is overheating due to the heat wave. End of the line!nnSo, I cancelled my train tickets home and bought a plane ticket home….nn…the next day. I didn’t want to sleep on the airport lobby, so I call a cab.nnSunni, the cab driver, KNEW WHAT TO DO and brought me here.nnThe moment I walked in the front door, Randy made me feel like a royal. I was treated with patience, compassion and kindness.nnHe booked me up a nice single bed room, clean, quiet, clean bedsheets, fluffy towels and hot water.nnI get a cleansing shower, a much-needed shave and brushed my teeth.nnChecking in with my home base, I tell my neighbour lady that - HOLY COW AM I LUCKY I WOUND UP HERE!nnBelieve me, it could have been much worse and I have had my share of horrible travel experiences - all I can say is that I’m so grateful to Randy for his kindness and compassion.nnI try to model my own behaviour like people like Randy - and I’m proud to say that RANDY HAS RAISED MY BAR. HIGH!nnIt gets better. The next morning, I get so much guidance and knowledge from the morning front desk people , Giselle & Tanya. A little comedy gold ensues with me buying laundry tokens with a 20$ bill…nn…fidgeting through a purse wallet so I get loonies and toonies instead of dimes and nickels! More gold standard, above-and/beyond service.nnThis weary traveller is GRATEFUL for the WONDERFUL accommodation experience.nnAnd breakfast was yummy, too!

We started coming to the coastal in due to a family emergency that left my mother in the Moncton hospital. When trying to find a hotel we randomly selected the coastal inn, and it has been our choice hotel since. Randy was the first staff member we made contact with. He was so understanding and compassionate to our family’s situation. He accommodated us with such respect and empathy. I’m the morning we met Giselle. Again we were treated just the same. She made us feel like we had nothing to worry about and everything would be alright. The cleaners and beyond lovely too. They are very detailed in their cleaning and are lovely to speak with. Breakfast has everything a family or a single traveller would want. Cereals, oatmeal, toast, pancakes, sausages, eggs, hash browns and your choice of milk or juice. They also have a coffee and tea stand in the lobby beside the breakfast room. The gym is very accommodating for all ages. Not very much equipment, but it’s all a person needs! The pool has a shallow and deep end that is just perfect for kids. There a many towels available on the pool deck. The mall, movie theatres and restaurants are all a walk away! Plus the Moncton zoo and boardwalk with butterfly world is only a 15 minute drive from the Coastal Inn!nWe consistently come back to the Coastal Inn when we plan a trip to Moncton. There is never a second choice or thought about where we choose to stay since December 2024. The Coastal Inn is our Moncton home. Thank you for such great service and accommodations!

nnCoastal Inn Dieppe has truly been like a second home for me during my work trips. The warm atmosphere and welcoming environment make every stay enjoyable. Randy has been absolutely amazing—his customer service is top-notch, always greeting us with a smile and making us feel comfortable. It really warms my heart to know we have someone like him here.nnI love the facility and its prime location, which is close to everything I need. But most importantly, it’s the people who run this place that make it special. Thank you, Randy, for everything you do! Highly recommend this Inn to anyone looking for a great stay!

Room was decent. Paint was chipped on walls and ceilings. Bathroom was remarkably clean. Air conditioning wasn't functional but likely because the change of season from winter to spring. The linens seemed slightly yellow but were overall clean. Window wouldn't latch at all but they advised during checkout that they would take a look. Overall good stay, would stay again.

Randy would be the sole reason to stay at this hotel. He went above and beyond a number of times. Always has a smile and warm greeting. He's great with kids and seniors! This man deserves all the raises. Now, let's talk about the room. Although it appears to be freshly renovated if you're staying long storage will be an issue. Rooms came with alot of amenities but weren't consistent from room to room. We had 3 rooms. All had fridges ours was warm, one had a microwave, all had coffee, ironing boards, somewhat working irons, moldy ice buckets thankfully they came with liners, somewhat working blowdryers, filthy walls including what appears to be leftovers of a night spent conceiving shall I say, beds with heads lower than the feet, extra blanket in 1 room, extra pillow in another, clean bathrooms. The pool is nice and features an accessible washroom although there are steps up into the pool area then down into the pool side and then only a wobbly ladder to get into the pool. So basically, if you can't easily use a pool ladder or climb stairs you can't use the pool. However, the pool is a great temperature, clean, access to towels, and open until 11pm which was great for our NYE stay. Hotel was fairly quiet given the night. Breakfast would have gotten a 5 star if anything but the eggs were hot...or warm. But they did well keeping it stocked and it's definitely far more than a continental breakfast so I'm unsure of the many bad reviews on it. Also hot coffee/tea available all hours in lobby.
