Story
From a lawn chair right at your campsite, you might see some of the bands of wild horses that roam the Red Desert surrounding Rock Springs. The orange-and-purple sunrises and sunsets rival the majesty of the free-roaming herds. Exercise the family dog in this KOA's new Kamp K9 enclosed pet walk. The campground also offers a swimming pool, a playground, a new Pike's Peak playscape, basketball, horseshoes and tetherball. To the northwest, White Mountain rises on the horizon, and a few miles southwest, massive Flaming Gorge Reservoir gleams between rocky bluffs. Also nearby, hike the ever-shifting Killpecker Sand Dunes, which grow as high as 150 feet. Bring your ATV and explore the rugged, high desert plateaus of southwestern Wyoming.

This was an overnight stay on our way home. We stayed in one of the deluxe cabins that has a full bath and shower. It was a great cabin. This park is quiet. The RV sites are all gravel and some sites have a privacy fence with a nice patio and fire pit. The tent sites are really nice. Some have a gazebo but all have grass and privacy fences. There are 5 deluxe cabins and I believe there were 5 small cabins that have no bathroom. The pool was covered by in the summer it would be great. There is a nice playground, basketball court and horseshoe pit. The staff was so nice. The office store had a lot of items available. Simple but great KOA.
This is a great, well maintained campground. We just stopped overnight because it's very conveniently located off the interstate. Close to super market and restaurants. We did the patio site which had a fire pit, table, and privacy fence. The fence was a great touch because sites are pretty close together. The tent sites looked really great with small level grass pads for tent and fencing around them. Not a lot of shade but a great place to stop for a night or two. Dog-friendliness: Has a dog park for dogs to play. Area is large enough to throw a ball or frisbee. Also separate area for large and small dogs
We stayed here 2 years ago and loved it! But this year the pool isn't filled and the jump pad has a hole so you don't get any bounce. The bathrooms aren't as clean as before. It is a parking lot KOA and we were okay with it when there were activities for the kids to get their energy out. We were suppose to stay on our way back but decided to cancel and booked at Little America since their pool is open! Even after the $10 cancel fee we are having $15 by going elsewhere. Doesn't mean we won't be back but next time I'll call ahead to make sure the pool is open!
It's in the desert so hot, no grass, no shade to be expected. But we got one of the premium spaces with private, fenced patio, two trees, table, seating, grill. - GREAT! The pups loved it. Staff super friendly and helpful. Store large and well stocked. Dog-friendliness: Very secure dog area. But very small dog could probably get through the cattle -panel fencing if they tried. Great for average or larger dogs.
We stayed for a couple of nights. Wonderful staff, clean bathroom and showers. They have big rig spots. Trails for side by side right from the park. Only downside is the oil smell from the storage tanks next to the park.
Nice campground, staff is friendly. Sites are close together and level. The dog run area is probably the cleanest we have been to. The only complaint is the campground could use more grass and less gravel and rock. It was a good place for an overnight stop.
The staff works so hard to get great reviews. They are totally amazing. Cabins are spotless and it's got a phenomenal playground. It wasn't for me, because of it's location. Not quite a city but not rural either, located behind some type of water treatment plant or something. And just missing the quaint touch I seek while glamping. But I can't say enough about how lovely staff is and definitely a place to crash a night or two while passing through. But not a destination for tourists who go out of their way to get there.
Big RV park with some full time residents. Very well maintained, clean and well run. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. We cane a day early and our site wasn't available but we were put in a better one! Walk right out your RV and go hiking in the hills behind the campground.
Good spot to stay, cabin was clean and check in was easy as was check out. Disappointed the pool was not open, could have used that after a long trip. Staff was friendly. Not a bad spot, close to the highway and town to make a quick trip in and out.
Gravel parking lot for the $60/nite water/electric/no Wi-Fi site. Honestly looks like 90% of the sites are that. Yep should have looked at it via google earth, you can see it’s a burning man wasteland. Oh and my view of the oil things - lovely. There is a fence but it’s so low it’s 90% pointless. Hoping to get lulled to sleep by the i80 traffic noise
