Not a bad sized pub with a half decent menu, food is decent pub grub, lots of large TVs for those who want to watch whatever game is playing and ample seating including a large size deck, pricing is okay but they need better specials. The pizza is actually pretty good for a pub with a build your own option and a list of your standard fair options. I’m a big fan of wings and so they’ve got the standard wing Wednesday specials which I’ve taken advantage of several times. I stayed at the hotel for over a month on business and I would have eaten here every night but unfortunately the service from specific waitresses is abysmal, the skinny dark haired waitress with the tramp stamps is probably the worst, frankly I was amazed at the way she treats her customers, I deliberately would sit as far away from her section so I wouldn’t be served by her, the other waitresses were polite but brisk, normally it takes a lot for me to mention specific customer service habits but this was some of the worst I’ve seen, it’s too bad as this place has good potential and can do far better.
Great atmosphere! Lots of friendly staff and great food!
Got the chicken club, outstanding sandwich, the side salad was equally amazing. Found the setting nice, the beer selection not quite to my taste but definitely adequate. The service was decent. I did find it a little cold, wanted my jacket on. But overall a great pub, will visit again next time I find myself in Victoria.
Went for Wednesday wing night and it was awesome. More people should know about this place for wing night. They were crispy yet moist. The staff here is great and they have a great drink menu. The sauce selection was limited and could use a few more flavours. Not a crowded place so feel free to come in a large croud.
Nice spot for watching the game with a large projector and screen and lots of TVs. They also have a great patio. Newer staff so service was a bit slow. The food was great! Especially they gluten free pizza. Very well done.
Honestly never been to a place that doesn't care if they sell you a drink. Always have to wait or most times ask for another drink. Staff spends WAY too much time talking to each other up at the bar. Or playing on there phones. Been many times and once I even had to phone the bar to ask for some service when I was sitting fifteen feet away. The arm wave and the polite excuse me did nothing. Such lousy service. Natasha is about the only one that gives a damn and sometimes she's even off but her personality makes up for it. Food is so good to bad about the service.
I’ve had bad service before but the customer service here was atrocious. I had never been here before and a guy from my softball team recommended we all go after a ball tournament at Topaz Park. When we arrived, there were about 3 other tables occupied with couples and 1 table had 4 people but it was pretty much empty. There were 10 of us and it was a Sunday afternoon at 12:30 and we wanted to move some tables around so we could all watch the playoff hockey game and baseball game without people having to turn around to see. The waitress immediately told us we weren’t allowed to move the tables and that she would do it but we had to sit along the wall so half of us had to turn around to see the tv screens. We were told that because of the size of our group, there would be a 15% gratuity applied to our bill which is fine since other places do this as well. Once we were all there the waitress asked us for our drink orders. One guy ordered coffee and about 20 minutes later everyone one else had almost finished their first round of drinks but still no coffee. His wife asked the waitress if she had forgotten about his coffee and she went off and returned and said it was just being brewed. About 10 minutes later another woman went to ask the bartender about the coffee and she said that they ran out and had to go downstairs to get some but it was on it’s way. Coffee finally arrived 45 minutes after it was ordered. By this time there were only 2 other tables occupied by couples and the rest of the place was empty. I went up to the bartender and asked to see the manager and was told “well, I’m here”. I took this to mean that she was in charge and proceeded to complain to her about having to wait 30 minutes for a cup of coffee and that the service we were receiving wasn’t worth a 15% gratuity. To which her response was “are you complaining about having to wait 30 minutes for a coffee?” Um? I’m pretty sure most people would think 30 minutes was a long time to wait for a cup of coffee. And in actuality he had to wait 45 minutes Our waitress was standing beside me as I was telling the bartender this and the bartender said that she didn’t see why I couldn’t just tell our waitress that we weren’t happy about our service. To which I just gave up and said “obviously you’re not going to do anything” and walked away. I had had enough and went back to the bartender to pay for my drinks and before I could even get to the bar she told me “you can take your attitude and get out. You’re tab is covered. Just get out” My first time stepping foot in this pub and I will never do it again. Any other business when you get poor service you ask to speak to the manager and the manager deals with the employee instead of telling the customer to get out.
My group of 25 were well taken care of! Thank you so much to the amazing owner, Ryan! He's a great guy! Our server Zoe was very sweet and managed us well! Will be returning regularly and recommending to everyone. :
I'm really disappointed at the changes they have made here. The secor Is okay, but looks more like a modern grill than a pub. All the points are gone and replaced with 14 to 16 oz sleeves. Still being sold at the price of a pint though. The menu has gone through some serious downgrading and isnt bad, but lacks the spark of the old days. All in all, the charm is gone. Great for hotel guests, but not worth going out of your way to visit as a local.
Great beer selection, service is friendly, personable and casual which I like. Food is usually on par too! Great daily food and drink specials and a different home made soup every day.
