Browns Socialhouse Uptown

Place is gorgeous! Location is central. Clean restaurant washroom. Delicious food. So why the three stars? It's because most of the servers had their hair down. Old school I may be but our server's long hair was almost touching my food. Yes, I know I won't die of dirty hair but hasn't anyone taken Food Safe Certificate?

Anytime I’ve been to Brown’s Social House I’m never disappointed. No matter how busy they are lunchtime at the Uptown location is very busy! the staff are always friendly and pleasant and the food is always delicious. I had some time to kill before an appointment so I decided to try and grab a quick lunch. I ordered the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich which had bacon and Jack cheddar cheese and a delicious charred jalapeño ranch. So tasty! The chicken was amazingly crunchy yet moist and juicy inside. The brioche bun was perfectly toasted. And I asked for the fries to be extra crispy and they were perfect. Highly recommend Brown’s!

Decent food at a reasonable price. Service and general atmosphere were friendly. Would dine there again.

Oh it was a hard day. I had to head out of town to deal with family emergency; this place made me forget about my troubles for 45 minutes. Beautiful meal with long Island ice tea, did i mention they were both double. Amazing atmosphere and exceptional staff. Thank you.

Solid service, a good selection of beer, tasty and fairly priced food. A great place to stop after shopping around uptown. The covered patio is a nice feature. Clean bathrooms and a nice bar!

As someone who has been to many restaurants across Victoria and Vancouver, I was extremely satisfied when I came across top tier service and dining experience at Browns Social House. My server Josh did an astounding job, making my group feel welcomed and at home in the establishment. I had a Florida special with a few drinks, and my guests all had high praises for the server and the dining experience. I will absolutely be coming back again, and if anyone is looking for great food, refreshing drinks, and an all round pleasant experience, come to Brown's!

Food was excellent. Server was nice and polite, but disappeared after we got our food. Had to wait quite some time to order another drink and extra condiments. My last beverage arrived after our plates were cleared and the bill with a machine in hand was delivered within minutes which was kinda like thanks here's your hat, where's your hurry.

We were greeted by a very friendly hostess. Our servers were friendly but not attentive. Our waters were never filled and there was no check up after our food was delivered. We had to wave down another server for the bill and payment was taken by the hostess. We ordered the lettuce wrap which offered very little chicken and the large fettuccine came with a quarter piece of chicken breast that was approximately 2oz. I asked the server when he dropped it off if it was the correct portion and had to flag down another server to confirm the size of portion once again. I understand the rise in food costs and don’t mind paying more but portions should still be acceptable.

Environment, food and service was very nice. Reasonably good value for the price. My only disappointment is you would think such a restaurant would be with the times and know that many customers now don’t use dairy in their coffee and tea, but would like a non-dairy alternative.
