Ramada Calgary Downtown

We stayed for a concert in town, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly! I had originally accidentally booked at the wrong location not my proudest moment, but we are all human, but the Ramada staff made that potentially very stressful situation a pleasant and easy one! Within 15 minutes on the phone we were rebooked and our whole experience there was very pleasant. The rooms were comfortable and clean. There was no parking lot or street parking, however they do provide underground valet and while this was unexpected the valet staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, careful, and considerate. The fees for the parking could also be taken from our deposit at the end of our stay, which made an unexpected expense much more manageable. We felt more comfortable with the valet after seeing the staff and how great they were!nWe would definitely stay again.

Room was quite warm with no way to control the temperature due to central air system. Lots of noise from surrounding rooms and doors to the hallway were very hard to close which resulted in a lot of slamming doors at all hours. Valet parking was very nice though. Convenient location and good price.

The hotel is an easy walk from the bus stops or downtown train. The ride from the airport is about an hour. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. There was a coffee machine, a chair and desk. The TV worked with a reasonable selection of channels. The bathroom was a little worn and no separate shower cubicle. The water pressure was good. Some toiletries were provided along with a hairdryer. We did not eat here. We found it suitable for our needs. You can hear the traffic outside but it didn't disturb our rest. We would use this hotel again.

I recently stayed at this hotel and it was hands down the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The room smelled absolutely awful, like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in ages. It looked old, worn out, and just depressing to be in. There were actual flies in the room, and the washroom was tiny and uncomfortable.nnThe bed was terrible. I couldn’t sleep at all and woke up with a stiff neck and itching all over my body, which makes me seriously question the cleanliness of the bedding. The AC barely worked, and there was no fan or anything else to help cool the room. I ended up sweating all night in a stuffy room with no proper ventilation.nnOn top of that, parking was a complete nightmare. Even though you’re already paying to stay at the hotel, they still charge you for parking. And guess what? The parking was full. The staff told me to go park in a different lot down the street, which cost me even more money. When I asked about the safety of that lot, they flat-out said it’s not their problem. So not only did they not provide parking, they also didn’t care enough to help find a safe alternative.nnHonestly, I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s not worth your money, your time, or your peace of mind. There are much better options in Calgary. This place needs serious improvements in both facilities and customer service. Total disappointment. Avoid it.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL IF YOU SUFFER FROM DIABETES OR OTHER ILLNESS THAT REQUIRES KEEPING YOUR MEDS IN A FRIDGE. THERE WAS NO FRIDGE IN MY ROOM WHEN I CHECKED IN AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHEN THEY COULD GET ME ONE. SO I ASKED THEM TO KEEP MY MEDS IN THEIR OFFICE FRIDGE. ON THE 2ND DAY THEY PUT MY MED IN THE FREEZER!!! THE MEDICINE I NEED TO INJECT DAILY, HALF A VIAL WORTH $600, WAS FROZEN, RUINED!!! AND THE ONLY COMPENSATION I GOT FOR NOT HAVING A FRIDGE QUICKLY WAS 3 BREAKFASTS. NO COMPENSATION FOR THE DAMAGE TO MY MEDICATION PHOTO ATTACHEDnnThey finally got me a fridge on the 3rd day.. 3 days waiting for a fridge is unacceptable. I can understand that hotels sometimes cut corners but they shouldn't gamble with people's lives! You should make it transparent on your website and booking platforms that by default your rooms come without a fridge and that the A/C is centralized and set at all times at 15C so most people would need a heater in their room.nnIf you have a waiting list of people waiting for appliances, you should prioritize people with special needs, keep a stock of appliances for critical cases, or have an agreement with companies that rent appliances to solve this kind of emergencies.nnThis situation evidenced a complete lack of planning and bad management decisions that are working really well to get you a lot of negative reviews. Apologies are useless if you are slow to solve or don't have the resources to attend to the needs of your customers.nnI gave them the chance to make things up for me so I could improve this review but after the incident with my medication and their lack of empathy and accountability for the damage caused, they made it impossible. You played with someone's health. I'm leaving this review with the same rating not only for me but also for other people whose health you might be also putting at risk. This whole situation was extremely poorly managed and completely unacceptable.
