Ramada Calgary Downtown

Nice place for short stay. Service and support staff are good. The lobby, corridors and the room are heated well. The room service was quick to respond. The breakfast buffet in the morning had lots of vegetarian options. They do have a coin operated washing machine and a drier if you want to get your clothes cleaned.

Overall experience was good. Just few recommendations. Staffs at the front desk duty is to focus on assisting guests not asking love to female employees during check In process. I mention this because the hotel has its own history. Ramada is supposed to be one of the prestigious hotels across Canada. And this hotel is located in downtown. It means the hotel represents the image of Ramada compared to the other Ramada in different branches. I guess some of rooms does not equip with small refrigerators. This can be improved in any time once the hotel would get enough margin. Good luck for the business!

Booked the room on Groupon for $75. Wasn't expecting much, but was still expecting the room to not sound like construction was going on at all hours. The heaters are extremely loud and I was woken up multiple times throughout the night to loud banging noises. When mentioned at the front desk they seemed to already be aware of the loud heaters and advised us that maintenance has a few tricks they can do to make them less noisy... Not helpful for a 1 night stay. We could even hear the heaters from other rooms making the same banging noises. The room came with basic ammenities (bathroom supplies) and seemed pretty clean. The underground valet parking is $15.75 pet night which isn't bad. Location is great, a quick cab to multiple clubs. If you're looking for a good night's sleep however, I would pick somewhere else.

The Ramada is usually held to a better standard, but this location provides adequate accomodations for those just looking for a quick sleep, not an extended stay. The parking cost is exploitative for a hotel, even by Calgary standards, and the front desk is slow as heck. Cost wise, we got this place on air miles, but the regular price quoted was almost 30% higher than everywhere else. This place wins on location, but honestly anything that is walking distance to the C-train will be beat this any day.

This is a good place to stay for short business travel. Check-in and check out were fast and easy.
