Ramada Calgary Downtown

First of 3 night stay. Very nice.nGym has new equipment with two sets of free weights. Pool is really unique on the third floor outside with a view of the city. Rooms and halls are old yes, but not bad at all. Some negative reviews here seem a little too negative... almost like intentionally negative. I will admit the hotel is a little old in some places but it had a new gym equipment and the rest is very well kept. The location is great and its not claiming to be a 5 star.nThis is, so far, we'll worth the price all things considered.

Staff is professional. Rooms are clean. Beds are soft. Has underground parking for 21$ a night which is convenient. Breakfast is standard continental fare 18$. Food was pretty good by hotel standards. Great value for my money. Would come again. Some amenities are dated since it's an older building, but honestly I found it kinda quaint as a trip back in time.

Staff was friendly but they only had valet parking so your vehicle wasn't overly accessible once you arrived. i wasn't even allowed to have my keys to get into my own car, they had to unlock it for me. hotel was pet friendly but there wasn't a blade of grass anywhere around the hotel. you had to walk 2 blocks to find a grass area and then a few more blocks to find a trash can and early in the morning the grass area wasn't safe. Convenient to the rail and riverfront

Solid hotel in a great location. Staff were more than helpful, and always courteous, and we saw them handle some difficult people at the front desk with professionalism beyond belief. The hotel is very clean. Beds were comfortable, rooms were a good size, but overall the rooms are in dire need of a renovation. The hotel is showing its age and some fixtures were more than a bit tired. Overall a good experience.

The rooms are pretty dated, we got a king size room and it was very small inside. The hotel has centralized AC and each room is allegedly set to 20°, it was 21° outside and it felt nicer outside than it did inside. There’s no way to control the AC in your room, and it was super hot inside. We had to go and buy a fan for $20 from Canadian tire. We were told the AC would be fixed and set lower, I wish we had known there was no way to control it before we booked for the stampede. The valet service was great if you can get it. I called the front desk twice about the AC, and then about the restaurant, I was told I’d be called back but no one ever called. The location is great, but for the price the rooms need an upgrade and staff needs better customer service training for issues.
