Ramada Calgary Downtown

Staff and location were good - easily walkable to lots of bars and restaurants as well as transit. Lobby and halls are charming. But - this hotel needs major upgrades. Rooms are so dated and not at all sound proof. I wore earplugs and street noises were still audible not the hotels fault, but new windows would help and hallway noises were loud. I could actually see light coming through all around our door. Our bathroom smelled of cigarette smoke and was in disrepair. We also found the room very hot with no way to cool it, just like another reviewer said. We only stayed the night and paid with points, but I would never stay again. Much better options for only slightly more $$.

The bedding smelled awful , a mix of wet paint and chalk , room was dated and definitely not worth the price. They upgraded us to a room with a patio and there are no lights outside or any warnings of a step down so I got a severe sprain and couldn’t walk and all they could say was they would let management know. I wouldn’t stay there again.

I am very pleased by how front desk staff welcome their guests, particularly Christine Faustino who helped me with my booking. She is incredibly personable and welcoming - her positive attitude is so contagious. She deserves to be recognized for being so genuine and passionate about her job. From front desk, to restaurant, to kitchen, bar and housekeeping, it almost felt like I was staying in a highest star-rated hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at Ramada Plaza! The highlight of my visit was definitely the pool area. It was clean, well-maintained, and the perfect spot to relax after a long day. The pool had a great atmosphere, with plenty of seating and towels readily available. The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive, making my experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable stay with a fantastic pool area. Will definitely be coming back!

Great value for the rate. Breakfast was simple but tasty.nWe did not try the pool.nnWe had some issues with our hotel room door being hard to close properly and loosely installed towel hangers in the bathroom.nnStaff was super friendly about it all though!nnAlso noise levels can be quite loud being located in the downtown area with thin windows, just for your info.
