Ramada Calgary Downtown

I recently stayed at the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Calgary Downtown on February 4, 2026, and while the hotel itself provided a solid, comfortable experience, the staff truly made the stay memorable.nnThe ExperiencennThe hotel is decent and well-maintained, offering everything you need for a functional stay in the heart of the city. The rooms are clean and the location is incredibly convenient for navigating downtown. It's a reliable choice for any traveler.nnStandout ServicennThe highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the service at the front desk. I want to extend a huge thank you to Catherine. She went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of.nnDespite arriving on a busy Wednesday, she managed to secure an early check-in for me—which was a lifesaver—and she also took the time to change my room to better match my specific preferences.nnIt is rare to find someone so attentive and genuinely helpful. Catherine’s professionalism and kindness turned a standard stay into an exceptional one.

We arrived on Friday and checkout out Sunday. The only reason this hotel gets 2 stars is because of how friendly and accommodating the staff are. And the workout facility is quite nice compared to many other hotels, they had just about every cardio machine needed for a good workout, as well as weights up to 50lbs and various weight lifting machines, kettle bells, benches, etc.nnThe hotel itself is quite old, the rooms are not the cleanest, the bathrooms are fairly beat up. We were moved to a total of 3 different rooms, each with its own unique problem. Given the value offered, I would recommend searching for an updated/modern hotel.

Wonderful service, the hotel personnel is one of the best in my experience, especially Ivy and Ar Rum who were very welcoming, helpful, and professional. The service they provided and the way they portray the best possible hotel experience is what you expect when you travel. Thanks to the hotel personnel my stay at Ramada was a great experience. I would definitely recommend the hotel only because of its staff.nThe hotel itself is very old and requires to be renovated. However, it was impeccably clean, well done housekeeping.nEvery single person I met who works for the hotel was very friendly and pleasant to interact with.

My stay at the place was short. The people at the hotel were really nice and they definitely made an impact but the hotel room was really dirty the bathroom had old soap stuck in the shower and the shelf was really stained with water with some items turning on “magically”at night which made the short stay sleepless as well for a part of it. The location seemed nice in the pictures but it was around a lot of sketchy people which was quite unnerving to stay. The hotel also says “non-smoking” I believe…? NOPE… could smell smoke all morning coming from under the doors smell of weed and cigarettes, not city smoke which was quite negative.

Be warned: the parking fee is $20 per day. This was not advertised well on Expedia where we booked, nor does it say anywhere on the website that the parking fees would be this high.nnThe bathroom door was weird, the lighting in the room was weird, and the TV is old and doesn’t have Netflix or anything. The wifi here is also pretty hit or miss, we had issues with connecting at first.nnThe service is fine, I personally don’t love valet parking but it can be nice, especially if you have a bigger vehicle.nnAll in all, the rooms were clean, the valet service was fine, but really the only thing driving any value here is the location. It’s not much different from any other Ramada.
