decent Chinese food with friendly & great services. They provides wide range of dishes, including noodles, rice bow, spicy hot pot, Barbecue, and buns. although their food are bit of bland compare to Chinese restaurants in lower mainland, but they are petty good for people enjoy less flavour Chinese food. This would be a perfect daily go-to restaurant. Love their new location with quite neighbours.
Lovely noodle shop! Prices are pretty good and portions are just right. Love the texture of noodles and assorted choices of broth and varieties to choose from.
I would recommend this restaurant. Initially, I did not think they would have anything for vegans because the restaurant's title indicates meat dishes. They actually have several vegan options. I had the vegan Chinese rice noodle , it was quite good. The cucumber cold dish is a classical Chinese starter. The girl who cooks the dishes is quite skilled. She is not a professionally trained chef, but she is talented. For overseas Chinese food, it's offered at a generous portion at really good price compared with other restaurants in Victoria.
Best Chinese noodle shop in town. Sour beans are phenomenal. Stick with the noodle soups - I wouldn’t order the ramen again.
The restaurant is noisy, dirty and understaffed. I food is mediocre to downright offensive. I had the special beef noodle soup and the broth looked and tasted like burnt dirty dish water. I’m a lover of northwestern Chinese food, and as it’s the only restaurant of it’s kind, I’m saddened and offended at such atrocious food. If you like good food I would suggest skipping this place.
When I am craving a spicy and sour noodle soup, this is one of my go-to places! It has a “clean” taste that I really enjoy. I’ve also had the hot pot here and it’s very yummy!
Having been in Victoria for nearly a year, I have looked high and low for my authentic Chinese go-to... and I have found it! So happy to have stumbled across this place downtown. Clean, friendly, tasty, and most importantly, authentic! The xiao long bao is a must have
We got a couple of simple side dishes. I didn’t expect to be blown away! The tiniest details were perfectly executed, all flavors in balance. We’ll be coming back many times.
Fantastic place. Super authentic with an extensive menu of chinese noodle and rice dishes, BBQ skewers and hotpot. Looking forward to trying their hotpot soon. They will have a sauce bar for making your own dips.
I was all ready to give this place 4.5 Stars until I bit into a un undercooked / raw chicken skewer. :p Other than that I quite enjoyed my rice noodles with veg/seasame sauce. I guess it depends on what's In season or what they have on hand for veggies. I thought it was going to be assorted mixed veg, but it was just sliced cucumbers. However the sesame and Northern Chinese type flavorings were quite .A hint of allspice in there was a nice surprise I would give a pass on the enoki mushrooms which were heavy handedly spiced and strangely sweet. I also tried the lamb skewers which were strangely enough in contrast to the undercooked chicken, overcooked and chewy. Nice flavor but way too heavy-handed on the salt. I guess it all depends on what you order and what time of day, but if you do have the skewers make sure you ask for yours well done! I had takeout and even with the sitting time in a well wrapped to go bag, they were still raw in the upper portion. Ate the tip off it and it was delicious - you could taste the marinade with the Chinese wine undertone. Unfortunately I can't say much more than that because I didn't want to risk the rest of it because it was raw and you can see it in the photo- yuck! Got there at around 5 and would highly recommend it as take out as people have said. It's very small and not too cozy for cold season with metal stools and doors wide open on a cool day because of the kitchen. The owners and staff were great people and really love what they're doing and that's why they are getting two stars instead of one even though I had I mostly raw chicken skewer. I would say it was probably the exception to the usual good food rule
