Decently authentic Cantonese food, ridiculously outstanding service! I didn’t have high expectations of this restaurant given its location, but what a nice surprise! Google review did not disappoint, the service was second to none, we honestly felt like having dined at a friend’s house. Everyone was so friendly, served us spring rolls on the house, gave my parents bubble tea samplers, took time to chat with us, and made sure to make the food extra soft for my senior parents. The decor is quite charming, there is a world map where customers pin where they are from on the map, it’s almost full. :
Feels like coming home to your favourite aunt and uncles! Great bubble tea & Always friendly and fun atmosphere! Funky art and environment, the chairs walls and even the stairs have neat art. A staple in Victoria that we are lucky to have - you must visit. Thank you for your great service!

My husband Brad Martin and I just moved to Victoria and were looking for great Chinese food! Well we FOUND IT! Not only was the food unbelievable with very generous portions but the FAMILY is amazing. I was running late from an event I hosted and they were all waiting for me when I arrived! I was able to meet with them and chat and get to know them a little and they even threw in a nice surprise dish of Spring Rolls for supporting them our first time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thank you. Very slow service...they said it was due to holiday although the place was empty except for us and one other table. We had a chicken dish and a beef dish. Both were described as loaded with veggies. Not the case. Few veggies other than onions and celery and no flavor. The chicken was of poor quality. I would skip this place next time. On a positive note, the host and waitress were extremely friendly. Unfortunately their positive attitude couldn't make up for the bland food.
My husband and I had the most lovely dining experience here tonight because of how warmhearted, friendly, and caring the owners are. If I’m ever looking for a place to eat that reminds me of the home cooked meals I had at my aunty’s house growing up, Hope Key is where I’d go! We were also so touched by the care we were shown by the owners before we started our trek back home. Looking forward to another visit in the future :
This is not a typical Chinese restaurant you can find even in Chinatown in Victoria. If you want to taste home-cooked Chinese food, this is the place. They provide 5+ start friendly service you can only get them from high-end restaurants. If you like Chinese food, I highly recommend this restaurant. Best customer service in the whole of victoria! The people working have such an air of friendliness to them. Always felt so welcome here. They're happiness is contagious! Highly recommend the bubble tea! 10/10

I ordered a bubble tea and was blown away by the friendliness of this place. The owner is so nice! I'll come back for the good just based on how lovely the vibes were.
