A neighbourhood restaurant dedicated to the easy, good food of Spain

Story

We are open seven days a week for dinner and for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays (and most long weekend Mondays). We are influenced by the flavours and traditional dishes of many regions of Spain, but we most enjoy the WAY they eat. All our dishes are 'tapas', meant to share with the table. We import some Spanish ingredients such as Jamons, Conservas, Olive Oils and Cheeses, but the majority of the menu showcases local produce and fresh meats. Our Wine List boasts one of the largest selection of Spanish Wines in Alberta. The list does span the globe however, showcasing small, sustainable, organic and Biodynamic producers many whom we consider friends. Our bar is known for creative, custom cocktails, with fresh ingredients and unique spirits. Although we offer a large section of custom cocktails.

A lot of different options for tapas. And the paella is really good. This is a great place to just try a lot of tapas. The ambiance is nice too. Go with a group of friends and get the paella for a time well spent. Also, it would be a good idea to have a reservation as the seating is a little limited and you may have to wait a little.

What an incredible experience we had! Came in without a reservation and were seated promptly at the high tops. Everything was 50% off, the tapas were delicious and the cocktails and wine list were impressive. Had Tom as our server and he was so attentive and made it a great experience. Will 100% be back!

We went here just as an after thought, and what a great experience. Front of the house staff were very friendly as we didn't have a reservation. They suggested another location to go for a drink while we waited for a table. They called us, not just a txt to tell us that they had something for us. Once inside we were greeted by our waiter Travis. He was very helpful with the menu as it was the first time we were there. The food was excellently done and full of flavor. My highlight was the Sherry. I was not aware that Sherry is a Spanish drink. I've never had it, and really didn't have much knowledge about it. Ask your server about the Sherry. They will give you so much information it's incredible. I went with the 2oz glasses through out the night as it allowed me to try different kinds and styles. A sweet Sherry and a Dry Sherry. Over all it was the highlight of my night.

The first time we ever went to Ox, it was a Sunday. We had their famous paella, three of their tapas and two taster glasses of gin. Unbeknownst to us, Sundays are happy hour days (or just happy days in general) and we had 50% taken off our bill. Needless to say, for the incredible quality and taste of the food and drink, we were thrilled. We brought some out of town friends over for dinner here too and once again, Ox did not fail to impress. This is such a great place for date night, fancy night, I want to impress my in-laws night, or just I-want-to-eat-incredible-food night. The staff and servers are super friendly and knowledgeable and the decor food and ambiance is very classy. 5/5!

Reservation set for Saturday night, we were greeted promptly and seated. Terrific atmosphere and our server was very attentive. The highlight is the food and the chefs do a wonderful job. Tapas plates were well executed and arrived in a timely fashion. Our favorite was the mussels in a chorizo broth. Overall, a very pleasant night and we will be back.
