The Coup

Every time I've come here, the food is always delicious and the staff is caring and conscious of your dietary needs. I am not a vegetarian, but I often recommend The Coup simply because they cater to many different dietary restrictions. The cocktails here are also top notch and you could definitely come here just to get some fancy drinks. The only gripe I have is that service can be a little slow, but staff is definitely attentive and meticulous. This restaurant is also good for people watching on 17th as the whole front wall is just windows facing onto the street.

This seriously is the best breakfast place we've ever been to. Incredible food, cocktails, ambience, service.... just a really top-notch spot that combines casual with classy. Laid back but simultaneously upscale and trendy. This place is so good, I feel like they should allow an option to add a sixth star. Like, one extra star per year per Google reviewer. Seriously- this place is worthy of Google developers rolling out a software update just to add that rare extra star for the establishments that REALLY stand out in all regards!! Until then, please just trust my unofficial rating system: The Coup=⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Shout out to our amazing bartender/server/recommender Jessica!! As well as Mickey, who no longer works at The Coup but he was equally amazing and helped make enough of an impression on us we just HAD to come back!! It's even better the second time... Six stars people. SIX STARS!

I had heard so much about this place. When I finally got a chance to try it, I found it okay. The restaurant looks good, the service was quick and polite. The food, however was... 3/5. I have had better be food. The flavours were good. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, or whatever, I will need some convincing to go back again. And the portions were small too.

The best plant-based dishes made with the best ingredients. Another "best"? The coffee. Get it with the coconut milk to make it the best-best. I recommend the Messy Jessie with tofu. The best.

Been to this establishment once previously and had a good experience. However tonight our experience was far from that. After ordering the vegetarian burger I was extremely disappointed in the product that came out. It is my expection (and I don’t think it’s very high) that you’d be able to take a bite of a burger without it completely turning to mush and spilling out the sides, leading to an empty bun and the contents all over the plate. After calling our server over and explaining to her I would like to order something else as I was very disappointed in my food that I was paying twenty dollars for, she informed us that as it was “personal preference” there’s nothing she could do. I work in the food industry as well and this was the worst dining experience I’ve had. Not only was she unwilling to help, but she also didn’t offer to grab a manager, or do anything to make us happy. Definitely would NOT recommend. .
