Award-winning Restaurant serving Market Cuisine: local, fresh, and sustainable dishes with a focus on homemade ingredients. At MARKET, our fresh ingredient philosophy starts in our kitchen, where we bake our own breads daily, cure our own meats, do our own butchering, make our own cheese, pastas, sauces, soda syrups all from scratch. We even grow our own herbs, micro greens and select vegetables year round. MARKET is the first restaurant in Calgary to use an internal home garden, the Urban Cultivator.

We were there tonight and had a great time because of our server. She was clearly extremely busy (due to a staff member not showing up) but was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and timely. It was a great night because of her.

A friend and I dined at Market last night, we were seated in what appeared to be the lounge section of the restaurant. The service was definitely sub par having the bar tender work as our waiter; as he was making the drinks for other patrons, we were often left to wait for water, to order and to ask for dessert and the bill. We were excited to try mutiple items, the waiter did his best to remember, but a pen and paper would have helped because he forgot to order a dish for us and it didn't arrive to our table. The desserts are also underwhelming, and for the price, it's not worth the small plate. I would recommend going to a different establishment for a after dinner drink or dessert.

My boyfriend and I were here Sunday morning for brunch. Because Market opens closer to noon, we got a coffee down the street to kill some time. As we walked into Market and were seated, the waitress asked us to pour our coffees in their restaurant mugs “because it’s a matter of principle” she said. Two things, we felt reprimanded and almost left. Second, many restaurants that serve brunch understand that because of long waits before being seated, customers usually go to coffee shops to get a drink to kill some time and stall hunger. We have never had a problem with this before. It was embarsssing for us to pour our coffee in another mug while other customers looked.

Went here for dinner this past weekend and it was an awesome experience. We will have to go back again! The food and drinks were absolutely phenomenal! The service was also great! Overall an amazing experience, a must try if you are in the area or traveling through!

Best brussels sprouts we have ever eaten, and fantastic service. This was our first taste of Calgary, and we will be back.
