Bar Von Der Fels

One of my favourite bars in Calgary. Service, food, wine are all incredible. Owners and staff work hard to bring a unique experience to guests every night and share their knowledge about wine and great food. 👌🏽

Will is the best server there! He's excellent and will always have a great recommendation for you. Brunch is rare but amazing if you get the opportunity. Unpretentious and unassuming, Bar Von Der Fels has something for everyone.

Great food, excellent service and nice ambiance. Neat little spot with a unique take on simple dishes that are executed well. Staff is wonderful and it's a great spot for catching up with friends

My wife read about this great little restaurant in the latest edition of Air Canada's EnRoute magazine so we headed out Saturday evening and had a great time. The ambiance is perfect...cool jazz, great service...lots of great stories about where the wine is from and what corner of France the bar basin came from. We ended up having fries and chicken wings...which sounds pretty mundane but at Bar Von Der Fels it was absolutely exquisite. The fries are soaked in pickle brine and double or triple fried ending up in the best fries ever along with mayo and apple cider vinegar. The wings? ...deboned and stuffed with ham which was delicious and succulent. Also, those vintage tubs from France contained the best selection of red and white wines that I've seen in Calgary....all available by the glass which makes the tasting exploration even more fun. And the staff know everyone of them for perfect guidance in your culinary journey. We'll be back!
