Overall experience wasn't what I expected. Service and food were both slow... and the place wasn't even busy.nThe food was OK but nothing special. I've had better nachos for the price and the dessert was sadly also a disappointmentnWho serves dry packaged cookies cold with ice cream... the crumble was the only wow on this one!!nNot sure why ppl like this place besides the bowling ? Maybe but there's way better around Calgary.
Mostly disappointing. Many new staff are being trained. The happy hour drink pricing was good. Our server was new and doing her best, but they had not prepared the staff with the needed knowledge. Some of the Happy Hour servings were dismal even for the prices paid. The chips in the chips and guac were all broken up like they were from the bottom of a bag making it very hard to enjoy the dish and the serving was very small. The fries were very salty. Beef dip had little horse radish and barely enough au juice. Happy hour pizza was not the regular pizza.
We wanted to hit up a patio on such a beautiful day and this was one of the few places that seems to let you make reservations for outside.nnThe patio is on the rooftop with great views of the downtown skyline.nnI had the Thai Beef Bowl which featured a well done wasn't asked for a preference steak over rice, with a cucumber cabbage slaw with Thai dressing and peanuts. The sauce was delicious, steak was tender and overall it felt like a very refreshing meal.nnMy wife had the Surfer Salad with seared tuna, soba noodles, pineapple, avocado, edamame, roasted corn and a cilantro lime dressing and crispy tortilla strips. She found the crust on the tuna spicy and too much dressing on the salad but liked otherwise.nnServer was friendly but not the quickest to refill drinks. Overall a good experience and would come back for a meal on the patio.
We went for the yycexp lunch. I was surprised with the food - out of 3 we tried, this was the best bang for the buck.nThey ran out of the dessert ice cream sandwich, but had the freshly fried donut which was very good. Although I prefer ice creamnnWhat we got was shrimp tacos, tuna poke bowl, chicken rotisserie and donuts. I will definitely go again for tuna poke bowl!!!
We ordered pizza and have done it a few times now, and we love the pizza from National. It’s delicious! I highly recommend trying this for your next pizza night, you won’t be disappointed!
