Expensive but the portions are fine as long as you go for a pasta + protein. The service was impeccable and impressive, the staff was fast and very attentive to all guests. There was a lot of wait staff so it's well staffed making the experience premium.nnThe pasta didn't feel like I was getting the authentic Italian experience, it tasted too contemporary and lacked traditional values. If you want to try a unique twist on Italian food, this place is good.nnThe pasta was unique but I wouldn't crave it again, the chicken was disappointing, it was bland, tasted too much like lemon and even though it was from a wood fire oven, I didn't taste the essence of fire or wood because the dish was drowned out in lemon.nnThe appetizer suffered a similar fate where the orange and lemon made it too citric. Lemons are a staple part of Italian cuisine but I felt it was too much here. The appetizer was really good, but the citric overload made it not reach the level it was meant to.nnThe foods definitely unique, and service was unbeatable. The food even came at a timely manner, my only issues would be the over use of citrus, the chicken not really embodying the wood fire taste because of the citrus overload, and finally, I would say it was way too much protein and not enough of that hand made pasta.nnI also noticed the cocktail selection was very minimal but that's expected given that the wine selection was decent.nnYou can also say that this place is very expensive but the quality is there and worth it. Overall if you're coming here for an experience, and to experiment, you'll get that. But for the price point, I expected more of a balance in each dish.nnSide note: they have a very cool entrance and front decor
This place is incredibly busy, so make sure you get reservations early and don’t modify ie: add more people because they’re consistently booked.nnFirst of all, try to get a seat at the bar, the staff at the bar are awesome, entertaining, and sometimes if you’re nice, they’ll throw you some freebies as well.nnGrab a couple of their signature cocktails, they make solid Italian inspired drinks. They are well crafted.nnTheir wood fire roast chicken is excellent, super juicy, and tender. Their pastas are also well made, perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned.nnThis place is a must try for Italian food lovers in Vancouver. Parking situation isn’t great, but at least it’s free in the area.
Absolutely loved the food, the atmosphere and the service here!nThe servers were super nice and very thorough with their explanations.nThe restaurant has a very homely vibe, just the type to get a crown comfortable from the get go.nTheir food is excellent! Portions are generous and cooked to perfection!nLoved their cocktails too, the Negronis were just out of the world!
Came to Savio Volpe with my family and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I had the garlic knots, the pasta bolognese, and the lamb rack which I shared with others. The garlic knots were excellent. Great fluffiness and texture accompanied by a great sauce. The bolognese was also great. Sauce and noodles were spot on and it didn’t feel too meaty at all even though I got it without cheese. The lamb was very tender and had a great chew to it a bit pricy but great for a small group. Service was very good however it’s a bit of a slow dining experience that has a wait between courses not bad however may be a turn off for some. I highly recommend the garlic knots. Overall it was an excellent restaurant that I would definitely return to.
Great food and amazing atmosphere, but there is just one big area for improvement. The waiting area is small and gets crowded super quick. The hostess didn’t let anyone know they needed to check in, and they didn’t have a system to text/call people when their table was ready, so people were forced to wait inside and it got cramped and uncomfortable very fast. We had the 5-Course tasting menu which was fun and very filling. The apple salad and whipped Burrata were unique and excellent. Steak was cooked perfectly. Great restaurant overall with some truly unique dishes with great flavor.
