I recently visited this restaurant and overall had a good experience. The vibe was lively and inviting, though I did find it a bit on the loud side, which made conversations somewhat challenging.nnAs for the food, everything I tried was decent and of good quality. The corn risotto, in particular, was really good and definitely the highlight of the meal. Everything I ordered was all enjoyable enough to leave me satisfied and overall experience made me feel like I’d definitely consider coming back.
Came to Osteria Savio Volpe for my birthday and ended the dinner with mixed feelings. Some dishes were better than others and some were a complete letdown. Service though was excellent!nnOverall the appetizers were good with strong flavours. The beet salad was very nice and light. Although, the kale salad and bread knots were good, it was definitely too salty. Eggplant and tomato arancinis were good, but a bit salty too. If you like food on the saltier side, then it might be just right for you, but for me it was a bit much.nnThe next two pasta dishes served felt like polar opposites. The spaghetti alla vongole was the best dish of the night. In fact, it might be the best pasta I’ve ever had. If you visit, you must order it. It was so flavourful without being too salty. Perfect al dente texture - not too hard or soft. Capers and cherry tomatoes were nice. The tagliatelle alla bolognese, on the other hand, was underwhelming. The sauce was alright, but again salty. The noodles were so bad. Some were softer and some were too hard, and some of the noodles were stuck together. All together a not so great experience.nnWe waited 50 min for the last course: bone-in ribeye with bone marrow and roasted garlic with a side of broccolini. We ordered medium at 35 oz. If you order medium rare you wait 45 min. Although, they prime you and let you know about the amount of time you need to wait, it was just too long of a wait, and considering the previous dishes we ordered were on the smaller side, we got hunger pains. The ribeye was quite good, but is it worth the long wait and $220+ dollars? Not sure…If you are willing to wait, then I would recommend getting a smaller portion of the ribeye and getting another protein too so you can eat that while you wait.nnOur whole meal was $400 not including tips and I don’t think it was entirely worth it. Would I come again? Maybe just for the spaghetti alla vongole, or maybe I’ll just stick to my regular rotation of restaurants…
I've been to this restaurant five times now, and I’ve never been disappointed! Every visit, I order the Kale salad a must-try! and absolutely love their pasta. My usual choice is the fettucine ricce with venison ragù, but last night I decided to try the creste di gallo with lamb ragù, and it was fantastic! The shape of the pasta is adorable, resembling a rooster crest.nnThe Primrose pork chop is incredibly tender, even without being sous vide, and the sauce blends in perfectly!nnEven with a full house, our water glasses were never empty, showing just how attentive the waitstaff are. Our server I’m sorry I forgot his name! was caring and attentive, even offering us an ice cream treat for our birthday celebration.nnThe only downside is that you really need to make a reservation a few weeks in advance—trust me, you'll understand why!nnThank you for another wonderful experience! I can't wait to return and try more of your delicious pasta
We visited this place to celebrate a special occasion. Since it was a last-minute booking, we could only get a spot at the bar - but it turned out to be perfect. The bar had a wonderful atmosphere, and every staff member was attentive and kind.nnBoth the cocktails and the food were outstanding - everything tasted authentic, almost as if we were dining in Italy. Truly a memorable experience!
The restaurant was busy when we came for an early dinner. We ordered the chef’s special of the day mafaldine and the beef skewers, gemelli and agnolotti. Each dish was superbly done!nnSteve , our server, provided us with exceptional service. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Reservations needed if you want to come and have and enjoy a meal.
