Story

Campagnolo, famous for nose-to-tail cooking, offers affordable, casual dining in a warm and welcoming space. The menu, co-created by chef de cuisine Nathan Lowey and executive chef Robert Belcham, boasts house-made salumi (The Cure), hand stretched pizza, fresh pasta, risotto, and seasonally inspired main courses—using only the finest local ingredients. It’s simple and authentic.

Peter Van de Reep's expertly chosen wine list focuses entirely on Italian and BC selections, balanced by Italian-influenced cocktails and a solid selection of beers.

The spacious room is highlighted by original old growth fir wood beams and revealed brick. Designed by Marc Bricault, the 90-seat venue is warm and bustling, not flashy. Made from sustainable sources, the design features cork floors, tables made of recycled butcher blocks, wood and white oak.

Many vegetarian and gluten-free options are available.

Campagnolo Upstairs is one of my most favorite places. It's a laid back cocktail bar that serves some of the best drinks around. Their food menu is small but packs a punch. Do not miss out on the dirty burger and if you are lucky some of the not-so-secret toppings. Seriously though fantastic drinking, eating and if you are sitting at the bar it's even better.

I've always been a huge fan of Campagnolo Roma but never got around to checking out Campagnolo upstairs. Finally stopped by tonight to try their burger. It was everything I hoped for and more. The burger is simple... Almost reminiscent of a fast food burger but on a whole other level. There's a "secret" menu that you can order toppings from. We added the crispy chicken skin... Highly recommend it. Unfortunately, we are taking a break from the booze for a while... Will have to come back to try the cocktails another time. Side note... The room is really cool. Kind of feels like you're walking into a prohibition era bar.

Beet salad was good, beets were nicely cooked, crispy salty potato chips on top was a nice touch. Pizza special of the day had a little bit of a sour dough taste which I didn't like. Maybe it could have been cooked a little more? I did not care for the undercooked raw tasting garlic slices and green onions. But overall the pizza wasn't too bad. My main complaint is the chicken lasagna. The chicken was dry and it lacked sauce. I think perhaps it would have been better if they used ground chicken or sliced the chicken in smaller pieces and added more sauce. Maybe it was a one off as I was here 2-3 years ago and seem to remember it was much better.

Campagnolo is a great restaurant with an excellent chef. Campagnolo Upstairs is their hidden gem with the best bar and bartenders in Vancouver. The atmosphere is exceptional which results from its small, intimate size. For this reason, it does not work well for large parties. If your party is 1 to 6 people max, you are guaranteed to enjoy excellent, food and drinks at a caliber you cannot find elsewhere in the city. All of this delivered by friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Beautiful interior, no music thus allowing you to experience the noise of others talking makes it even more pleasant of an experience. Wonderful and courteous staff too! The meatballs I had were the best I've ever had, matched the ones from Italy easily!!
