It was my first time here last year and I loved the food and atmosphere. Decided to return for our first wedding anniversary and still was a pleasant experience. I felt like a million bucks with the service and the food was tastefully delicious. I love the way Federico greets his guests on their special occasions. I will not wait long to return.
We really enjoyed our time! Lovely Italian restaurant well known for its pasta. Staffs are very respectful and helpful! The energy level was absolutely high intensified by music and dance ! Food is delicious! It’s a bit pricy on Friday and Saturday nights as only fixed price menu is served! However you never regret if you choose this place for your date or birthday party!
We went here for a dinner and show event because the description said 'Simply The Best' Tina Turner Tribute featuring former World Tina Turner Tribute Champion, Luisa Marshall! We were disappointed that only three Tina Turner songs were performed. The special event should have been advertised properly so this was misleading. Aside from this, the Luisa Marshall Band was very enjoyable to listen to. The band is very good and plays a wide variety of hit songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s to the present They provided a very energetic performance with good audience engagement. We can see why they have a large following. Here is our main complaint - we had reserved for two couples. You must pay in advance. Which I did on my credit card for both couples the day before the event on Thursday, January 2. The wife of the other couple suddenly became serious ill the next day on the day of the event January 3 and landed up in hospital. I called Frederico’s to tell them the circumstances of the cancellation of the couple and they said okay thanks for letting us know. They did not mention anything about still charging for the couple. We kept our reservation for 2 and found out when it was time to settle our bill at the end of the night we had still been charged fully, including tax and 18% gratuities for the other couple. We complained about this and even spoke to the manager. He said the best they could do is to give us a credit under our name in the amount of $157.30 to be used another time. We find this not very good PR at all under the circumstances. This turned out to be a hugely expensive evening for us. We would have skipped the additional expense of ordering a bottle of wine and before dinner drink if we had known. Would we go back? Of course. The food was good and we were not rushed. The courses came out nicely spaced. We were given a very nice table with a great view of the stage. The staff were all very pleasant and it is one of the few live music venues where you can dine and dance in Vancouver. The venue was well staffed. Others we know have always reported having a great time there.
If you want to dine and dance, then this is the place to be. They serve authentic Italian dishes and the portions are just right. The dining area has that old-school Italian vibe to it that harkens back to a time when people actually dress up for a night out.
We went here for DineOut Vancouver. We got a 3 course menu. My meatball starter was absolutely delicious. Definitely my favourite out of the three. The accompanying sauce was just perfect. For my next course I had gnocchi with brown butter and sage. I was so excited for the sage because I love the flavour but I actually couldn't really taste it in the dish. It was overall a lovely dish but I was disappointed with that. To finish I had a steak. Perhaps it was the cut of meat but I was left bits that I couldn't chew in my mouth. Our server was fantastic. You really felt like you were being looked after and cared for. The atmosphere was excellent, there was something oldy-worldy yet timeless. Overall it was a fantastic experience, I was just slightly disappointed with a couple of elements of my dishes. It is worth a visit though! We didn't get to see but apparently there is an excellent live band.
Came for Dine Out Vancouver and really enjoyed it. Lamb meatballs and the risotto to start were both quite good. The cheese and sauce really complimented the lamb meat. The lamb was warm, wish it was a little hotter but it was good. Papardelle bolognese was tasty. My wife's seafood linguini had a good amount of seafood - salmon, scallops, mussels, and shrimp - they didn't get cheap on that. The prosciutto wrapped chicken was awesome, would definitely order that again. For dessert the Bavarian custard was rich and creamy, perfect choice for dessert. My wife had the cannoli and she said it was ok
We were looking forward to eating here. Although we had a reservation, we were seated beside a party of approximately 60-70 people, of which one kept using the PA system to congratulate his parents on 60 years of marriage, and asking everyone to sing some song in Italian. As we were there to celebrate a birthday as a party of 4, we didn't expect to be seated so close to another celebration. There were other tables much further away from them, but we had to ask to be moved there while other diners were brought directly to the quieter area. Food was not bad, but not good either. My friend's Linguine Pescatore was lacking in seafood to the point of having to dig for the few pieces she had, and overall had very little flavour. Pasta was nowhere al dente as stated in the menu, it was much softer than that. I had the prosciutto wrapped chicken breast. It is described in the menu as "prosciutto wrapped chicken breast, peperonata & provolone filling, potato puree, broccolini, baby carrots". As you can see in the picture, I received a sliver of regular carrot, not baby carrots. Finally, our main server was good, but the people who brought our main courses not so much. My dinner was placed in front of me from the opposite side of the table by reaching across my friend in front of her and over her food. I expect that at Denny's in a booth, but not a standalone table. For the money, not impressed. A shame, because we have heard many good things about this restaurant.
One of the most fun places for dinner I have been at. Even on a Sunday evening. Good live music, fun to watch people dance and very good food. Makes me want to work on my dancing for the next visit. Even our 20 year olds enjoyed the night. A great spot to enjoy the night and we would return for a weekend. I'm sure it's really hopping then.
Great space for group celebrations! Delicious set price menu of Italian favorites. Dancing to live music: visiting acts or Fredrico's campy covers with Uncle Aldo on guitar.
Came here for our 10th wedding anniversary. We decided to bring our daughter and man did she have fun. I always live coming here as it's a nice little escape back in time. Food and service were amazing. One place I need to visit more. Highly recommend
