Just about as solid a bike shop as you’ll find. We recently purchased a new FS MTB for our son here and the team that helped us knew their stuff and seemed to provide trustworthy guidance on what we needed for age/weight and riding needs. Parking in the back.
Dropped bike in to get my Ohlins fork serviced. Work performed by Curtis. Very professional service, Curtis called ahead to ensure they had all the right parts to service my fork. Work performed on time, and additional work for some other problems on the bike discussed in advance before work carried out. Detailed notes and recommendations provided when picked up. Fork is performing better than when I got it new and all other work to a high standard. Price was in line with the local competition. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.
I haven't purchased yet from them but my Kids will stop in to get air in their tires and they treat them awesome. I recently went looking at E bikes and they were all so polite, informative and engaging. If you are wanting to get yourself into a bike, that's where I would start.

Always a good experience at this store. I once came in at 5 minutes to closing, looking for a small part. They treated me very well and took the time to find the part from their shop spares, despite them being closed by the time they found it.
Purchased my first e-bike from Oak Bay Bikes. A big thank you to Matt who listened to all my wants and needs patiently and helped me pick the perfect bike! I've been so happy with the experience that I dropped off my old bike for a tune up too. Thanks to all the staff. Definitely found my new bike shop in Victoria :
Awesome experience. Highly recommend this bike shop!! The staff are super friendly and very helpful. I took my daughter there to find her a new kids bike. One of the staff members Rebecca was extremely helpful in getting us the right fit.
I don't recommend this shop. There are better ones in Victoria. I don't typically review places, but I want to hopefully prevent some people from losing money. I brought my Norco Valence road bike in for a tune-up, and got quoted $1400 to replace the drivetrain and rims see receipt attached. I was told it was unsafe to ride given the state of the rims. Effectively, I was advised to throw my bike out - frame and all high-end aluminum frame with carbon forks - and just buy another bike. My bike, brand-new 8 years ago, was $1200-$1300. This $1400 quote brought me close to dumping money into a new bike off of used Victoria, because I thought that was my only affordable option given my budget, and I initially didn't question their assessment. When I later came by to pick my bike up, they suggested I wait upstairs in the sales area... Given the information I later gained paragraph below, and everything mentioned above, I can't help but conclude either manipulation or ignorance on the part of the staff involved: they either tried to manipulate me into buying a new bike knowing I didn't actually -need- a new bike OR the staff were ignorant enough to believe that I needed a new bike. The most charitable possible interpretation is that they poorly assessed my needs, and thought I wanted the highest-end possible hardware and therefore would have to pay a lot of money to do so. In all cases, the service can't be described as competent. I talked to some cycling friends afterwards, and they figured in materials I could fix my bike for $400-$500, as long as I wasn't trying to get very high-end hardware. I then brought my bike into Mac's Cycles and got the following rough estimates: -$210 to replace the drivetrain $170 materials, $30 labour -$230 to replace the rims, but I could still use my existing ones for a couple years before I truly needed to replace them -Some costs for tuning up the bike spokes, derailleur, etc ==> Something in the neighborhood of $300-$400, perhaps less, given I continue using these rims for a bit longer. At the high end, that's 29% the cost suggested by Oak Bay Bicycles! Overall I recommend Mac's Cycles Centre every time and to avoid Oak Bay Bicycles, especially if you're not experienced with bikes and therefore might not be sure if you're getting cheated or not in a particular situation.
Staff are very nice. This bike shop also seems to have the largest selection of clothing in town.
