Since 1989 Sports Rent has been Victoria's go-to shop for quality rental and retail items from snow to surf, cycling and camping. We're proudly locally owned and operated and are committed to ensuring that you get the most out of what Vancouver Island has to offer!

Sports Rent is also Victoria's only locally owned ski and snowboard shop! We are proud to carry some of the top brands in the industry, often at reduced rates. Our shop technicians have years of experience sharpening and waxing skis as well as mounting bindings.

We also have a variety of backpacks, tents, sleeping bags and sleeping pads. Wetsuits and accessories as well as other surf gear is available at clearance prices!

The lady who spoke to me in the phone had an impatient attitude and poor respect for the customer. I hope she can change her attitude as a staff, she supposed to pay more respect to the customers. It doesn't matter whether your experience is OVER 20 YEARS so you can behave like you know everything. I am usually do not go angry but I really am this time.

The woman working inside lacks the most desirable trait in rentals and sales... A helpful attitude. I dropped in with a few questions about surfboard rentals and she was unwilling to show me the choices. She stated, "they are all the same." Anyone who surfs relaizes how incorrect this is. The outline or shape of board as well as tail design and fin setup are just a few details relevant when choosing a rental board . I am from San Diego where the the rental market is quite competitive.  This woman wouldn't last a week in our area if she couldn't take the time for customers inquiries.  Sadly, her store is the only local rental biz in the area so she probaly gets away with it...

Fantastic shop. Very friendly and helpful staff with loads of expertise - a nice counterpoint to dealing with the teenagers working at Sportchek. 

If you're looking for ski boots, ask for Brian. Best help with gear I've received at any shop.

I bike every day, never owned a car and have rented bikes all over the world when traveling. This is by far the best rental bikes I've ever come across. Comfortable and good gears suited for the hills on the island. Service at Sport Rent is super and the same is the day price for a bike.

Recently I dropped my skis off for a wax and sharpen. They were able to complete this within the week and did a fantastic job.  
I've visited them a number of times over the years for various rentals and have always been greeted by friendly helpful staff.
