Delicious Chinese food for a very reasonable price. Loved everything we ordered especially the congee, casserole, and the streamed rice noodles. Service was good and food came relatively quick, but make sure you order the casserole a bit earlier as it does take a longer time to cook.
Highly recommend this place! We tried their clay pot rice, beef brisket, rice roll w fried dough, deep fried squid balls, crab wrapped w fried shrimp balls and fresh oyster w minced pork rice soup, all are cooked perfect! A must try!! Service is very good and attentive. Order clay pot ahead as it takes about 20 minutes to make.
date visited Wed May 18, 2022 Overall Experience : 4/5 Comments : First time eating at this resto. Tho we have driven by many times lol. Since it was pandemic times and we prefer dine in over take out. So we were waiting for the restrictions to lift more so we could dine in and skip the dishes at home. Just two of dining. This resto seems to be of the hong kong cafe type at least regards to the menu. One advantage of this resto vs other hong kong cafe types we been too, this resto accepts debit. I’m not a huge fan of most restos that don’t accept debit. Things are supposed to be minimal contact these days. For those managing Gout, be careful there are quite a few items on the menu that you should avoid like beef and innards. Service : 4/5 Service was friendly and quite fast. Food : 3.5/5 We ordered : fried dough fritters $2.75, shrimp congee $8.25, shrimp & chive rice roll $5.25 and fish ball & squid w/special spicy sauce lo mein $9.95. For this visit the dough fritters were over cooked was almost too hard to bite into, we had to soak a bit into the shrimp congee to make the dough fritter easier to eat. Shrimp congee was good 4/5, could have use a few more pieces of shrimp. Shrimp was just right not rubbery. Shrimp and Chive rice roll was good as well, tho didn’t really notice the chives that were supposed to be in the dish. The fish ball & squid w/special spicy sauce lo mein was almost a bit too spicy for me and I even asked for mild, the fishball and squid had a nice mouthfeel and chew. . Wifey didn’t enjoy the level of spice. It seems the dishes they serve are meant for single person order, most of the items we ordered didn’t seem like for sharing. Tho we still shared the congee, dough fritters & rice roll. Since wifey was turned off by the spiciness of the lo mein dish. I got to enjoy that on my own. Drinks : 4/5 other than the tea that was provided. We did request some ice water along with wifey ordering a hot hong kong tea. Which is more of a treat when we can find it on the menu. Value for Money Spent : The bowl of congee looked a little on the smaller side for portioning for $8.25. The lo mein dish @ $9.95 was fairly priced since squid is expensive these days. The rice rolls were the lowest price item we ordered for $5.25, just wish there was a bit more. The dough fritter looked like 1 piece just cut into 8, not too shabby for $2.75. Worth repeat visit : Yes we shall be back, there are other items on their menu we wish to try.
Authentic Canton/ Hong Kong cuisine. They are the taste same as in Hong Kong we had. The wonton noodle tastes pure that I taste every ingredients. The noodle hardness is cooked just at the right time and the wonton is full of shrimp meat and favour. The congee is smooth and delicious. The cuttlefish ball in the noodle is full of favour. The dough fritter rice rolls are crispy inside with a thin layer. For our order over $28 we can order 2 crab craws with a special price of $8 per 2 pieces. We enjoyed the meal tonight.
Nice authentic cantonese eatery conveniently located at a plaza in the North Scarborough area. My favorite noodle soup place dine in or to go. Shrimp wanton, dumplings and their spicy beef noodle soup is highly recommended with it's sweet spicy taste, definitely worth coming back for more.
Yum!! Curry fish balls and squid, steamed rice noodle roll, fish meat Siu Mai, congee, squid balls and deep fried fish skin, milk tea and lemon tea! All the Hong Kong local foods are so good! The highlight is FRIED CRAB CLAW mainly fish and shrimp paste is huge and very tasty. That’s the food I always looked for in the wedding banquet when I was a kid. The only thing I don’t like is the soup come with the lo mein. Too much salt. Will be back for more HK foods
This place used to be in Richmond Hill and ever since they moved , didn’t know they move to this location until saw their Facebook page by accident. We loved the steamed rice roll and the congee at the time. So we went and try and the food are same quality and more choices! The must try is the steam rice roll, still very good and very comparable to Hong Kong ! Add lots and lots of sesame seed and some “hoi sin” sauce and sesame sauce, that’s the way how I like it!!! Yum! One deal worth mentioning is if u spent $28, u can purchase 2 fried crab claw for just $7.99 and they r huge in my opinion!! I didn’t had a chance to try the congee as I have no more tummy room after trying all these other items I haven’t tried before. but for sure will try congee next time
Congee HK Style Breakfast Alton Towers Covid protocols in place. This place serves up some nice fluffy congee and other Hong Kong style breakfasts like lo mein and beef internals. Spend $28 or more you can also order the deep fried crab claws for $7.50 2pcs .. normally $13.50. Highly recommend this place if you're craving for some nice congee.
I use to go to this restaurant a while back for dinner and the food was cheap and cheerful. If you just want a snack or lunch it won't necessarily fill you up but the cost is reasonable. I ordered the lunch menu which consisted of a spicy beef fried noodles and a wonton noodles. At first it was a bit strange as my beef and noodles was deconstructed into 2 piles on my small plate but the sauce had a nice slightly spicy tingle. It came with a beverage of your choice, either coffee, tea or lemon tea. The wonton noodles however was good with 6 portions of wonton, cabbage, noodles, soup. Overall, the food was ok and you would need to order 2 or 3 plates to be filled up.
Hong Kong style breakfast, we ordered fish ball & sliced fish cake rice noodles with soup and minced beef congee, half dough fitter steamed rice roll and milk tea. It's hard to find good HK style minced beef congee. We tried so many different places, this was the number one. All the other were so good too.
