Happy Congee is in a food court setting, their congee are very authentic. Those who grew up in Hong Kong will surely appreciate their Assorted Congee and their Beef Congee; the way they prepared the beef and the ingredients included in Assorted Congee are very traditional and will bring back your childhood memories. Even Sam's Congee Delight cannot come close to Happy Congee. Dough sticks are freshly made from dough in front of you, they taste great and they sell quickly. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. Will definitely go back for more.
Really really delicious Chinese donut and rice rolls. It’s in a food court and the tables in the food court are not cleaned and cluttered with misc. storage items so I would highly recommend ordering take out. There’s a steady order for their Chinese donut and I can see why. Crisp on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. We ordered two congees and they were good. Lots of fish and meat in each bowl of congee. We were pleasantly surprised. Still thinking about their Chinese donut! A must order!
Food court located at the entrance to the supermarket. Freshly deep fried dough sticks. Congee were just like the ones in Hong Kong. has which were very good. Also very cheap!
Authentic congee that you really can’t get in the USA anymore. This type used to be more common in nyc but has been overtaken but fusion weird styles. Delicious an inexpensive. Definitely a go to for congee and fresh you tiao fried in front of you.
I regularly come here for my fried dough sticks and fritters, and occasionally the steamed rice rolls. They're fairly consistent and fresh but their dough stick lacks some finesse that good traditional ones should have. The chef is constantly using chopsticks to spread them apart so the finished product can come out in ugly twisted shapes. It is sometimes overly doughy and dense. Pro tip: they get quite busy so you can call in your order to be picked up. They usually pack the fried dough sticks fresh once you arrive so it doesn't steam in the bag.
If Michelin star dishes out awards for Youtiao, this place deserves one! Its just so good: crispy on the outside and very soft inside. It's packed with flavour as well, and not oily at all. They also do very decent congee. The liver congee is my favourite.
The Congee combo with noodles is good and tasty. The Wanton Noodles Soup was not enough on and taste of yellow ghee. They frequently increase the price of fried fritters to now $1.80 each the last I visited in Dec/2020 the highest in the area. Many also sell them fresh and hot for only $1.50. This I called Greed. There is a difference for turning a profit and being overly greedy. A Timmy donut cost much less. Remember, this is just a comfort food and not a meal to feed the hungry.
Love their congees. Very creamy and flavourful. The fried dough are freshly made on site. You can see them being made. My only complaint is that the location is far away from me. Wish it was more central.
This place has been there for a long time. Their fried dough sticks/fritters are super popular almost everyone there orders them and they have a good selection of congee, soup noodles like wonton noodles, lo mein, and rice noodle rolls. Service is fairly quick despite how busy it is and typical of any other Chinese grab-and-go restaurant. Heads up that it's cash only!
First time trying out this congee shop. It is located inside the food court of Field Fresh Supermarket the first shop near the entrance. They are open during lockdown. Our take out was ready very quickly. The taste is ok as expected from a food court. The price is reasonable.
