They’re ok not the friendliest service tho. The lady looks so dreadful every time we visit. $6 for a box of rice with meat isn’t bad either.
i used to get the BBQ from this place but I stopped for a while as i found the products are very salty. I think the prices are very cheap. i rather pay for a decent price and get better quality of food. i read the comments some people wrote about the lady at counter. She used to be very friendly, maybe they are too busy and stressful for her. I didn't know about the weight thing, now i would definitely watch the price and weight of food if i visit there. Last night i bought a duck there, the price was good and the duck tasted good too. it wasn't too salty nor too fatty. I would visit this BBQ place
Super cheap lunch specials $6 no tax. Not the friendliest of service but for six bucks - can’t ask for much. Comes with choice of soy milk, herbally drink or bottled water. You can mix and match for the combo of 2 choices. I was staring at the pictures thinking i was restricted to those combinations and the dude behind the counter yelled at me .
Very dishonest shop. I bought 1.6lbs of BBQ pork in $10/lbs+tax today, but the lady charged me $20. They charged me $2 more.
I’d advise anyone looking for Chinese bbq to stay away from here. It’s not worth trying for a few reasons. The BBQ pork cha siu is extremely dry without flavour and the roast pork siu yook is not crispy at all. What’s worse is that the owner/employees there are extremely rude to the extent that they were yelling at my mother and I in Cantonese when we were simply trying to order. We walked in, hoping to try their selection of items and so we asked for the choice of 4 meats with rice. When we let the owner know, he started grumbling saying why do we need so much food? Who does that?? We decided to ignore his comments and proceeded to ask if we could have bbq pork, roast pork, chicken and duck. He then started getting even angrier and said that we couldn’t choose any of them and he’d just make us a plate of items and we would have to eat it. It was absolutely unnecessary and I’d highly recommend anyone wanting BBQ pork or Chinese bbq to try any other place in this plaza to be honest. Save yourself the time, trouble and effort. Absolutely embarrassing show from this store.
Racist... and Tax evaders! I go in and speak English.. They tell me it's $1 more for chicken as they ran out of roast Pig, what a scam. Next guy goes in, they don't charge him $1 for chicken and NO TAX. You can compare my food picture versus others... I also got jipped in portion sizes. Barely any meat on the chicken. If you are NOT Chinese, don't go here.
- not so nice customer service - visit on Thursday July 19, 2018 between 13:30 and 14:00 EST - ran out of BBQ chicken, ran out of cha siu bbq pork, ran out of red sausage, no more soft drinks - ran out of soy beverage - portioning of price paid, fair - ordered 2 bbq item soy sauce chicken and roasted pork with rice for $5.00, tax seems to be included or left out..since I paid $5 flat. Date visited : Thursday July 19, 2018 Based on the time I visited to fill my bbq meat craving, they seem to have run out of a lot of the bbq meat offerings. Now I am uncertain if they replenish their bbq meat offerings later in the afternoon or if it is just the one batch for the entire day until they run out. I think if you want to have a better selection of the bbq meats, you might have to show up before lunch time 12 noon. One time my wife and I tried stopping here after I had picked her up from work 6pm and they were completely out of all bbq meat offerings..so we ended up with sweet and sour pork take out for $4.99. Service : don't expect great service here, also staff English speaking skills are a little lacking. The counter staff is kinda on the rude side as well, so be careful. Food : Wife and I enjoyed the roast pork tender meat, skin still semi-crispy even after 4-5 hours, soy sauce chicken was kinda “normal” as everywhere else. Still looking forward to try their cha siu bbq pork. Have to try and get to Kong Kee before 12pm sometime in the near future. Value for money spent : For $5.00 and for what you get is fair. Not quite enough for sharing between my wife and myself, good portioning for the rice. If you are looking for a larger portion of protein offering head to Ho Ho Bbq 2-3 doors down. Larger portioning for 2 item bbq + rice & some veggie for $7.00. Still 2 of the better deals around for under $10.00 pre-tax. Repeat visits : of course!
hard undercooked rice with uneven meat pieces which is dry to top it all. Vegetables aren't washed properly making the food so sandy
Duck is a hit and miss. Don’t like how the lady handles my money though. Always cheats a dollar or two when giving back change. Real shysters, not a right way of doing business especially when it’s food that needs to be weighed
Roast Pork and BBQ Pork with Rice and Soup - 6.00 Excellent flavour with good cuts of meat, nice presentation. The service was efficient but not so friendly, hence the mediocre rating.
