Alton Restaurant

The restaurant is located inside a Chinese plaza and has been around for many years. The decor is outdated but the restaurant appears cleans. Staffs are polite although they talk quite loudly. They offer very good value lunch menu with most dishes under $10 and portion is good. It’s a great place to grab a quick lunch!

The food here was okay. Except the chicken was on the verge of going bad. It was still fine for day-of consumption, but would be more questionable if you had leftovers for the following day. This would really be more of a 3.5 star place except the price makes it really worth it. Order in advance though as the wait is long. I was told 20-30 minutes and it was closer to 40. It seems they prioritize dine in guests as their food came out really fast and their takeout business is really busy. Also, the restaurant had assorted goods all over the place. Like toilet paper and chicken stock powder. Not sure what that is about.

Inflation? What inflation? This place serves very decent food and still manage to keep the price low. Super efficient staff. I like everything so far except the main staple chicken dishes - for some reason they tastes a little bland. Everything else is great. My favorite is the fried string beans. The Hong Kong style milk tea is excellent too.

For the price you pay this is one of the best Chinese food in Scarborough. Although the place is rundown and very crowded the food is delicious and cheap. We got 6 people set meal for $99 tax included. The only thing missing is the English menu. Don't forget to bring your cash. They don't accept credit cards here. Parking: Free parking at the plaza

First time here ...wow did not know this place was so busy for a Saturday. Food was really fresh and tasty.... 6 to 7 adults for 90 bucks is very good at this time .. Worth coming back

Awesome food, very authentic. The value is unbelieveable here. Also the bonus of a prize at the end depending on how much you spend is hilarious, makes you want to come back to win it all!

This is a HK style dishes restaurant. Foods are Ok, they are not salted which I find it healthy. The only thing I wish they would provide English menu beside Chinese menu. Definitely will comeback try other dishes.

HK milk tea was nice. Had the baked chicken steak and grouper fish but did not meet expectations flavour wise. It was filling however.

$100 for 5 people - imitation shark fin soup made with shrimp meat - fried fish fillet with corn sauce - fried chicken - beef and pepper in a stone pot Reason for rating: - most of the menu is in Chinese so you need someone who can read it - service is a little slow - place gets super busy so you need to make reservations for dinner ahead of time
