Moonga Nori

Great late night spot on the ave! We need more spots like this to thrive in our community, I’ve never had hand rolls before and I didn’t know what to expect but I was very very pleased with the experience. Staff were very welcoming and the food was top class. Loved the atmosphere, loved the decor, the music fit the vibe so well, and I really enjoyed the seating. It truly was a 10 out of 10 experience. Will be back

I had a really nice meal here today. Not only the server but also the chefs were really kind, and it was good to have some small talk with them. The taste and quality of the food were excellent, and the atmosphere was good! Servers seem like they actually enjoy working there. Can see their motivated working environment with good co workers : Hearing that they don't use much sugar and msg, I liked this place even more. They are still in the soft opening, so I'm looking forward to see their further development!

Really enjoyed my meal tonight at Moonga Nori! My fiancé and I shared several items on the menu and everything seemed fresh, high quality and it was all really tasty! I’ll definitely be back for another truffle crab hand roll. Service was fast and friendly. No complaints!

Went with a friend the other day and had high expectations because I’ve heard good things about their other location. The staff were friendly, but it seems there needs to be either additional training or changes made to their system as multiple orders were missed for my friend and I. We waited for more than half an hour for the remaining food and when we spoke to a server about it, they were under the impression that we were done eating and were ready for the bill. Besides that and waiting for about 10 minutes for our correct bills, the food tasted quite fresh and some of the portions were fairly generous, which came as a pleasant surprise. However, I probably won’t be coming in again until they’ve been established a bit longer.

Order came 50 mins later due to peak time. We just sat there waiting most of the time not worth going if you do not order off the special menu more pricy. They almost forget one of our food orders becuase they were so busy. Food was good, presentation was amazing, food less in quantity. All seats are facing the chefs, kinda hard to socialize with your friends imo. Interesting place but probably never come back.

Popped in for lunch the other day and was incredibly impressed! Everything that came out was fresh and the texture was perfect. The blue fin tuna was their feature and holy chow was it delicious. Each order/roll gets served individually which I enjoyed because I hate when you get a plate of sushi/maki and part way thru it starts to get to room temp. Their style of serving small portions at a time was really nice.

My friend and I have been wanting to check out this restaurant since we first heard about its opening. The quality of food was good and everything seemed fresh. Our favourite was the oshizushi and the scallop truffle hand roll! However, the service could be improved upon. At one point we were waiting ~30 minutes for some of the food we ordered without any of the staff realizing that they missed punching half our order in the system. Additionally, we needed to get our bills shorted out twice as there was a mix up with the splitting and also an addition of an extra item that we didn’t order. By the time we left, everyone who was originally at the table had been helped with and had already left. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since it’s still a soft opening, and the other customers that night didn’t seem to have the same problem. But an improvement to the service and the sales system should definitely be made!

Moonga nori is definitely one of the top sushi restaurants in edmonton! Everything we had there was amazing and very fresh. The freshness is almost comparable to eating sushi in Japan! We ordered the scallop and salmon sashimi, truffle crab handrolls salmon handroll, chicken karaage and assorted aburi sushi. Not only do they taste amazing, their presentation is so unique and aesthetic! Will definitely come back again.
