MEC is not only my favourite mountain equipment store, it is also my to-go bike shop. They have an absolute amazing staff and they are ready to help. I had a flat tire on my bike and they were able to fix it right away. They have exceptional prices and quality products. Paul went above and beyond to provide an excellent service and I am beyond grateful for their help. Highly recommend their products and services.

Was in there today to buy a pair of climbing shoes, and I was given very good service and was guided through the process very well. Employee was very knowledgable and was able to help me find the perfect pair. If you’re looking for a pair of Climbing shoes and needs some help with fit , I really hope that they are working there when you go.

Online stock is accurate to what they have in store. Staff are friendly and ready to help for any questions you may have. MEC Ottawa does give discounts to service members in the Canadian Armed Forces, as well they do tax-exemption for status indigenous people in Canada.

Ordered online in advance for pickup as the website advertised 24hr pickup. Was going to just order it to my house but I figured since it was a birthday gift it would be nicer if we could pick it up together as a little surprise, but I didn’t have to pay for everything right in front of him. They didn’t have the order ready, whatever. Not a big deal. I’ve decided as it’s a gift I will just re-purchase everything in store then deal with refunds for initial purchase later. They don’t have half of the order in stock but advertised 24hr pickup? I asked an employee and was told that if they don’t have something in stock then they source from other stores. This obviously would have taken longer than 24hrs. I ask about steps to change pickup to delivery as they’re out of stock of the item and can’t fulfil the pickup, or issue a refund. They say I have to call customer support to do either of those things. Whatever, not a big deal. The email form for issues is not currently available, the chat is not currently available, and the customer support line says it’s open 7am-4pm on Saturdays, it is 9:30 today. I call and it says the support centre is closed. Absolutely the worst customers service I have ever experienced in regards to online pickups. Why would you even allow me to place an order for 24hr pickup for items you don’t have in stock at that store??
