If you’re considering a new gym membership I’d strongly encourage you to look elsewhere.nGeneral cons: the hot tub has been out of order on almost every visit. There are consistently at least 3 machines out of order. The women’s section is laughable and hasn’t been updated since they opened over 10 years ago. They got rid of sanitary wipes and just have paper towel and sanitizer so machines are rarely cleaned between use. As you can see from other reviews they do not respond to negative reviews or feedback which shows their poor customer service.nnThe final straw for me was that when I signed up for a membership in October I was told the annual maintenance fee would be reduced since I pointed out their general lack of maintenance - on the contract it still had the higher price but Gavin the manager at the time assured me he would edit it after the fact as they system wouldn’t let him change it. When I was charged the full amount I asked the front desk who said someone would call me back, that never happened. When I filled out the contact me form online no one responded. I finally was able to talk to the new manager Ray and the operations manager who informed me that Gavin had been let go for doing “shady shit” and that the police were involved. I was told “we are in the business of selling memberships and some people take it too far.” They said they could not honour the price I was told since it was just a verbal agreement. Nothing was done to rectify the issue despite it being an employee they fired. Lesson learned - take nothing at their word, and get everything in writing. I have cancelled my membership and would not recommend the gym to anyone until they do some major updates.

LA Fitness has everything you could want in a gym-great equipment, plenty of space, and a solid overall atmosphere. On top of that, Hunter is an outstanding trainer. He pushes you to your limits while still making every workout feel motivating and rewarding. You leave each session feeling amazing and genuinely excited to come back for more. Highly recommend.

I am visiting Edmonton from the United States for a few weeks and wanted to use the LA Fitness facility during my stay. Upon checking in, it was discovered that although I hold a National membership, which grants access to all 50 U.S. states, it does not extend to Canada. Complicating the situation further, my girlfriend recently joined while in the States, and her membership allows her access to any LA Fitness facility throughout North America.nnTo obtain the same access she enjoys, I was informed that I would need to cancel my 20+ year membership and sign up for a new one at a higher cost.nnUnderstanding my predicament, Ray Hurrell, the gym manager, escalated the issue to his manager and was able to find a solution. While somewhat manual, it's effective and allowed me to continue using the facility.nnI am over 65 and have worked exclusively in customer service for more than 40 years. Ray earns an A+ for his patience, understanding, and creativity.nnAs for the gym itself, I have worked out at LA Fitness locations in Washington, Oregon, California, and Arizona. While the Edmonton facility is slightly smaller than a few I’ve visited and lacks a couple of machines I’m accustomed to, I’ve had no trouble getting in a solid workout. It is clean, well-managed, and welcoming.nnThank you, Ray, and thank you, LA Fitness, for honoring and protecting our long-standing relationship.

I stopped by LA Fitness today to check out a membership, and I have to say — I was so impressed from start to finish. Gavin, the manager, was absolutely wonderful. He greeted me right away, gave me a full tour of the gym, and took the time to explain everything in such a friendly and accommodating way. Seriously one of the nicest and sweetest people I’ve met — he made the whole experience easy and enjoyable.nThe gym itself is incredible! Super clean, modern, and spacious with top-notch facilities and equipment. Everything looked so well-maintained and organized. You can tell they really care about creating a great environment for their members.nOverall, I’d 100% recommend this location to anyone considering joining a gym. Between the excellent facilities and the amazing staff especially Gavin!, it’s truly an outstanding place to work out.
