I would rate it as very good even if it is not the best jerk chicken BBQ store in Mississauga. The food is yummy and with a decent portion for the price. I ordered a beef soup which is better than any other soups you can get from TH in term of taste and value. The staff is nice and courteous. There is always a line up because it is only a small store. You should also try it.
I was here in Mississauga for Tournament and decided to try some Jamaica jerk chicken. We goggled searched and my husband and I were impressed with Jerk & BBQ Haven. Their rice and peas was very tasty. Jerk chicken was well seasoned and spicy. The ladies were very good and courteous, I would recommend Jerk and BBQ if you are looking for a great tasting food
So I ordered the curry goat. When picking up the order I noticed it was light on the curry goat the main ingredient. Although the little portion I did get of curry goat was delicious was not enough to justify paying 21 n change for the meal which was mainly rice and curry with coleslaw. Unacceptable. I understand that prices will have gone up by cutting corners by short changing portions is just not cool. Won’t be trying this place again, spare yourself the waste of money on rice and curry.
Authentic Jamaican food in Mississauga! Sign me up! The jerk is pretty good, the curry is better! Lord, I could go eat all day! Only thing lacking is service levels…ever so slightly. For prepared food, one shouldn’t have to wait upwards of 10 minutes to get in and get out with your food. The food is worth it though, but just be vary of the time it could take!
I've been driving to Hamilton to get Jamaican food for months. Finally found one closer to home that's so delicious! I'm in Oakville so this is a lot closer to me so Thank you! You've got a customer for life now and I will be back. Your BBQ chicken was so yummy! Can't wait to try the jerk chicken and the soup
Customer service was below average. Front of staff seemed to be overwhelmed even with the small amount of customers inside the restaurant. After placing my initial order, I tried to place an order for rice and peas and curried chickpeas they only had 3 veg options listed. The rude older lady then rolled her eyes at me and said “ don’t even look at board, there’s a lot of stuff that need to be changed”. As a first time customer why would I not look at the board? If an option is not available cross it out? Honestly, I love to support black business I’am West Indian myself, but this one is below average in regards to customer service and food. If I hadn’t already paid for my overly sweet oxtail, I would have walked out right then. You’re better off when with leelas roti and doubles not to far from square one. Note to management - Try hiring front of staff that are kind and maybe don’t hate their jobs? These are the faces of your business.
Food was absolutely amazing. The oxtail just melted in your mouth, the jerk chicken was delicate and was just the right amount of spice. The service was good, recommend!
Taste 7 out of 10 Service 8 out of 10 Price 3 out of 10 Got a mixed food and paid over $30. If your doing jamaican cuisine. I'd say do Jamaica jerk house.
Tried the oxtail love it & Soup Coleslaw is greatFood: 4/5
Customer service is excellent; the ladies were super patient and helpful as this was my first visit and unsure what to buy. One lady suggested the two most popular dishes which are stew chicken or oxtail both with rice and peas. I ordered a large stew chicken which came with a Caribbean style coleslaw that had either raisins or dried cranberries I think. The coleslaw was a sweeter variety. The stew chicken may have been fried or roasted in the oven to give skinless stewing chicken a harder texture on the outside and simmered for hours to extract the flavor from the chicken. The gravy was pleasant, a little sweeter than other places. The portion was good but then again, I fill up easily. My overall experience and impression was definitely above average. I paid $14+ for a large order and can of Coke. The only issue I had was that the Scotch Bonnet sauce was not spicy at all. I would definitely go again!
