Great appetizers. Nice decor. I like their selection of dipping sauces. However was disappointed in the meat quality compared to other AYCE Japanese BBQ chains. Maybe I just have high expectations I did like the short ribs. They were the best on the menu. They were too quick for last call though. Got seated around 12:15 and at 1:30PM sharp they came to collect our last order. We know it’s a 2 hour limit but I think it would have been better to let us know when last call is so we can pace ourselves. Really enjoyed the unique sushi. I might come back for the appetizers and sushi.
Wow. This place blew me away. Food quality and selection were glorious, flavors were on point. The grill is the star here with the best set up I've seen yet - providing even constant heat for cooking. There are small Maki, appetizers, and soups to keep you going while you cook but nothing to take away from the main event. The service was quick and nice however I found with some servers you had to triple check that they put in the order quantities you actually asked for - we seemed to get less than what we asked for until we commented. The price great for the quality. Highly recommended.
Don't hesitate to visit this restaurant. Amazing quality, service, and atmosphere. I wasn't used to not using iPads but they made the process simple and not a single dish was missed. Order in bulk so you can keep the BBQ running. The price for the value is insane. Totally made my date night amazing
Got all-you-can-eat dinner here with two other friends and everything was so good, I'm still full from thinking about it! Just a heads up, weekend dinner price is $41.99 per person, but I think my friends and I ate our fill. No reservations, so we had to join the waitlist and wait for a call that our table was ready. We waited in our car for about 25 minutes before our table was ready. We were seated promptly though and the server explained the ordering system to us as it was our first time. We ordered many rounds of meat cuts and veggies and everything was so fresh and/or well-marinated. We first ordered beef, then pork, then chicken & seafood, with veggies for each round of ordering, before finishing off with some dessert. Service is very good and fast even though it was a full house, although we had to wave down our server twice because we wanted to order more. We'll be back, thank you very much!
Smoke-free Japanese BBQ. Servers are friendly and prompt. Food is fresh and good quality. All you can eat price between 36-39 per person. Kids about half price. Evening will be busy but lunch time is fine. Lots of parking as well. Recommend!
Hands down one of the best ayce Korean/Japanese bbq. Everything on the menu are served fresh and of high quality. What really makes this place deserves 5 star really comes down to the service as well. With that kind of quality paired with the great service really makes the enjoyable experience, hence the ratings above. Food came out in timely manner and the staff were attending the table cleaning up and offering for more order diligently. To top it all off, we think that sauce really makes the difference as well. My favorite would be the BBQ sauce!
My sister and her boyfriend took me here on a recent visit with them. I was VERY impressed! The quality and taste of the food was excellent. The server was very attentive and we enjoyed the experience. Definitely go back again!
The ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic, with a modern and minimalist decor that adds to the overall dining experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. Overall, I would highly recommend Takumi Japanese BBQ to anyone looking for a delicious and memorable dining experience. The combination of excellent food, great service, and a wonderful ambiance make it a must-visit restaurant. I cannot wait to visit again!
We waited 1.5 hours on Saturday to finally get a table but it was totally worth it. Our server Vincent was attentive and took the time to explain different meats on the menu and provided great recommendations. We tried the cheese w/ mussels and I think it's great if you're a big fan of cheese, otherwise it was a bit too cheesy for my liking. There were a variety of meats including beef, pork, and lamb - we were a huge fan of the thin pork belly slices - SO juicy when cooked right!! We also got the Fourgerite sushi which was ok - I wasn't the biggest fan of the green sauce. Finished the night off with a refreshing virgin peach mojito - YUM!
First visit was made during pre-vaccine COVID days for takeout. The bento format had been well received at that time. A recent decision was made to dine in at the restaurant, with reservations made two weeks in advance. It might have seemed early at the time, but, as we walked in, we realized it had been the right decision after all. Nearly all the tables were full on a weeknight, but we were seated quickly at a booth. Observations: - Menus were provided in physical format, but could also be accessed by a QR code taped next the table - BBQ Sauce, Ponzu, Spicy Sauce, and Togarashi were available on the table for additional seasoning, though I found all items to be marinaded sufficiently. - Extinguisher could be found next to the grill, similar to Gyu-Kaku. - Options of AYCE format or a la carte - Expansive menu selection comprising of both grill-able item and ready-to-eat dishes such as poke bowls and maki - Grill items included beef, pork, chicken, and seafood, and also did not skimp on the variety of vegetables either. The experience could still be enjoyed by those adopting a vegetarian diet, though perhaps not a vegan diet due to beef fat being used to oil the grill. The Good: - Decor was sleek and modern for a BBQ spot, and well-illuminiated unlike K-BBQ houses often dim for ambiance or with very warm, almost yellow lighting - No grill issues: grill maintained a consistent temperature throughout and we were offered grill changes no need to ask! after the first round of orders - Warm water was served with lemon to ensure a swig of freshness between each bite - Draft Sapporo was delivered quickly and paired excellently with charred meat - Sake Yuzu Jelly Shot was delicious with an interesting consistency, akin to dessert and beverage in one and a good size for experimentation - Curved tongs fit over edge of grill effortlessly without transferring heat to hands - Garlic Shrimp was amazing: crisp edges and supple interior - Salmon Fillet was grilled in a foil tray with covering, such that it could be half-steamed, half-cooked for tenderness - Beef Tongue Appetizer was simple with scallions and garlic, but extremely delicious. - Boneless Beef Short Rib was scrumptious with perfectly charred edges; Leaf Lettuce could be used to make a ssam wrap to highlight its succulent properties - Banana Melona was a swell finish to the meal, neither too icy nor too heavy - Cute mural in the hallway to the bathroom - Clean bathrooms: two individual stalls per gender - Attentive, comprehensive service: Our server, Karson, was exceptional! Great recommendations and excellent foresight in regards to which items to order and the appropriate quantity for enjoyment. He was also prompt in providing clarifications/responses to any questions we I had and took the initiative to set aside a Yuzu Creme Brulee before it sold out. The rest of the serving team also showed a friendly manner; many of the team assisted in clearing our table despite us staying until near closing time. The Bad: - Booth seating was roomy, though there was limited leg space due to the grill infrastructure beneath the table - Limited table space made it difficult to arrange/reach items, though staff were very diligent about clearing plates to help us - Marinated Lamb Shoulder was a tad tricky to grill due to its thin-ness; there was fear of tearing easily and burning on the grill - Onion Soup was more of a puree than a soup; not French Onion Soup, which is what we had thought it to be - Zucchini was a tad dry - perhaps a slight brushing of butter would improve it? - Takoyaki was mushy and seemed to disintegrate underneath the bonito flakes - Quite a pricey experience, especially if you have limited stomach capacity Conclusion: - Overall enjoyable AYCE experience though a la carte remains another option - Pricey but delicious - Widest assortment of BBQ and non-BBQ items witnessed thus far - Amicable, attentive, and prompt service this element wholly elevated the meal
