Chicken and waffle: The flavour was decent. The bone in chicken makes it a bit difficult to navigate through. Found it a bit greasy. Waffle was good. Quite filling. Crispy Jalapeño Shrimp: very crispy, mildly flavoured.
Their food is delicious. The tomato jam that goes with the mozzarella stick is unreal. We had the shrimp po boy with sweet potato fries. The fries and dipping sauce were delicious. The sandwich was over filled with shrimp so every bite you had shrimp. I've eaten there about 7 times so far and have enjoyed every time
This was one of my favorite places when I crave wings. Today was my first visit post-Covid and I was unfortunately disappointed as the wings are not as good as before. Also, now you have to order before sitting which is very annoying.
I've walked by Blackjack BBQ for quite a while now. I finally decided to give it a go. We ordered the daily/weekend special, which was the chicken & waffles with a side. For $13, this was pretty good for a sit down restaurant in the mall. It included the chicken & waffles, coleslaw, a side, and a non-alcoholic beverage. We chose the side salad, which was a deliciously and lightly dressed spring mix. The chicken was lightly-battered and fried to a crispy perfection - the only food complaint I had was the thigh bone that was still in the chicken, which made pairing the chicken cut with the waffle cut quite messy. The waffle was a little bit on the heavier side - you could feel the grease from the frying and the dense batter. The staff was kind and courteous. The space was very clean and the tables were sanitized between every set of guests. The only other complaint I had was the cutlery. They were forced to use disposable cutlery, and I applaud then for using compostable cutlery in individually-seal bags for each person. However, the strength of didn't hold up quite well to cutting the chicken - both my fork and my partner's fork broke while attempting to cut the chicken. Lovely first visit, and we'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!
Burn burger, awful taste. The meet was dry and bitter, didn’t taste the sauces, a really poor experience
The ambience is much better than their burgers. The burgers we ordered were charred and tasteless.
I loved this place. They have really nice, manageable portion sizes, really unique tasty items like the fried smoked mozzarella, a great staff and a fun motif. I really wish they were bigger!
Another great place to eat at the Food District! Instantly in awe by the beautiful designer of the place. Not a single spot of boringness is left behind. The menu is fairly small, but it doesn’t disappoint. Their burgers and sandwiches are amazing. Their deserts is not only extremely tasty, but unique as well. Combined with the stellar service, is a great addition to the Food District.
Just ordered 2lbs of bbq wings, charred corm, and extreme cheesy mac n cheese for delivery. It is such a good meal!! So tasty, cooked well, great portions. I guess the folks at food district in square one really know how to pick good vendors cause this place is pretty damn good. Ill be ordering again!
Despite what google maps say this place is currently open for dine in. The amenities are given in plastic bags so you dont have to worry about contamination with your forks and knives. I had the stable Sweet Maple Smokey Ribs and by gods it was a treat. Sweet and as tender as I remember i, the juices melt the meat in your mouth as it falls when you peel it. It costed us about 33 cad in total but it can be shared with 2 people. If youre really hungry one full rack of limbs could easily fill you. Half rack comes at about 17.99 CAD totalling you around 21 CAD. The other dishes like the burgers and poutine are very affordable. Very happy this place reopened, and glad to see how serious hygiene is taken. They wont even serve you water, itll cost you 1CAD for a bottle, but you can always bring your own!
