Hard pressed to say what I love best. We had a fantastic, spacious room with unbelievable views. The location is so perfect - never needed a car - most everything is walkable, including the underground access. Surrounded by all the best of Montreal. Staff were so warm and welcoming. Had a particularly lovely conversation with Concierge Louis. He actually sent up a treat for us after with a very thoughtful note about my husband's birthday. So thoughtful!
They gave us the top floor suite because the one we booked wasn't available. The room was not bad. Shower good pressure. Beds kind of stiff. And as others said it's outdated. We had a corner room so it was very dark small windows. The front desk was very friendly and we used the concierge to help us find the underground. The location is great. Near the subway and underground. And walking distance to everything in old Montreal, Notre Dame etc.
Amazing stay at InterContinental Montreal. The staff goes above and beyond to resolve any issues with professionalism and care. The rooms are beautiful, spotless, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Excellent service and a luxurious experience. Highly recommend.
Very good experience. Check in&out was so smooth. The lady in the front desk was so sweet and i receive all my benefits as intercontinental ambassador. Rooms were old but well maintained, also super quiet. The location was also convenient. Valet Staffs were also efficient and kind. Overall it’s a great stay.
We loved this hotel, and the staff were impeccable in all aspects but the 5 day experience was marred due to an unfortunate incident where the valet parking resulted in our car being broken into while parked in their underground at their Intercontinental Hotel parking lot, so under their care, no 3rd party parking lot involved. Our car was ransacked when brought to us 2 days later. There were no signs of forced entry, so we assumed that the doors weren't locked when parked and trusted in their care. It was March in Montreal, so it was cold, and we believed that it may have been a desperate soul finding an unlocked car and taking $10 of change and a blanket which, was later found, cleaned by the hotel and returned to us during our stay. We spoke with the Director Justine at the hotel, who was very sympathetic. She stated that they would check the security video to see if their employee didn't lock the car, which, in our case, they had the valet key fob in order to lock it. Justine explained it could take days to view the video. So for the next 3 days, we waited to see the result, which didn't happen until we returned home. This made an unsettling and pending situation without resolution for the rest of our stay; not knowing and not being resolved. Upon our departure 3 days later, Justine apologized again and said there would be a follow-up email regarding the video. We received it a few days after our return and the writer stated that the car was parked in an area where the car was not visual on the video so they didn't know if the valet who parked the car was responsible for this breach. The original booking was done via Booking.com so at checkout, Justine said they would not charge us the $37 plus taxes valet parking for the 5 days and would not charge us for one of the two dinners that we had at their restaurant which equaled one night of stay. It is a lovely hotel and staff with a great location, but this experience clouded our stay, especially having to wait a week to find out that they couldn't see our car on their video. There is a feeling of violation when your car is ransacked, and I wanted to make others aware that the situation can happen at a higher end hotel and as we are always told, not to keep anything of value when handing your car over to valet parking.
