We stayed here on July 30th, paying over $700 a night for a room with two beds. As frequent Marriott guests who regularly stay across the brand's properties, this was hands-down the absolute worst experience we’ve ever had at any of their hotels.nDespite notifying the hotel five hours in advance that we needed to check in at 3:00 PM, our room was not ready until 4:45 PM. This set off a domino effect of stress as we scrambled to get ready for a concert on time.nThe service issues only continued later that night. When I requested additional towels and basic amenities, the employee working the desk responded with a completely unprovoked, rude attitude. Front desk staff are the face of the brand; if they lack basic hospitality, they belong in a back office away from guests.nThe sole highlight of our stay was the valet team—those gentlemen were polite, professional, and helpful. However, great valet service cannot compensate for terrible front desk service and a chaotic, overpriced stay. As loyal Marriott customers, we expected significantly better. I strongly advise looking elsewhere.
Great location hotel is right in between Downtown and Old Montréal. Walking distance to everything Old Montreal.nnClean and modern hotel. Amazing staff. Valet service is excellent.nnThe pool and facilities looked great but we didn’t get a chance to use them.nnComfy beds and quiet halls.nnWe would definitely stay here again! We really enjoyed our stay.
I’m a Marriott Bonvoy member, and my entire family has stayed with Marriott properties for years. That loyalty is exactly why this experience felt so demoralizing and embarrassing.nnI was traveling with a 97-year-old colleague and friend, and I contacted the hotel two weeks in advance to clearly explain that we would need extra assistance. Despite that notice, Marriott did essentially nothing to prepare or to support us once we arrived.nnFrom the moment we pulled up, we were treated as if we didn’t exist. The valet and front entrance staff repeatedly failed to acknowledge us or offer help. I was left holding my 97-year-old companion’s arm while managing two suitcases, trying to navigate doors and the lobby on my own. Occasionally someone would appear at the door, but most of the time it was just the two of us juggling everything. It was humiliating, and completely avoidable given I had warned the hotel in advance.nnThe lack of care continued throughout the stay. When I called to have room service dishes collected, I was spoken to rudely and told to put everything outside the door myself—even after I explained I could not safely manage that while also caring for an elderly guest. Our room was never cleaned for the entire stay, even after an initial interaction with housekeeping. We also did not receive fresh towels despite requesting them. It was obvious that the accessibility/support needs I sent in writing ahead of time were never communicated to the relevant teams.nnOn top of that, the Wi-Fi was unreliable. I reported the issue immediately, was told someone would follow up, and no one did. When I called again the next day, I spent roughly 40 minutes troubleshooting, only to have reliable Wi-Fi for about one day.nnTraveling with someone of this age requires patience, planning, and basic human compassion. What we experienced instead was disregard. Given how thoroughly the property failed to provide the most basic service—despite my outreach two weeks ahead of time—I am seeking a full refund. I would not recommend this property to anyone traveling with elderly relatives or anyone who needs accommodations or extra support.
We stayed at Le Westin Montréal during the first week of May and had a really positive experience overall.nArrival was the only rough patch — we hit peak evening rush hour, and despite being very close to the hotel, it took about 15 minutes just to reach the entrance due to heavy gridlock. Not the hotel’s fault, but something to be aware of if you’re arriving at a busy time.nOnce we pulled up, everything improved immediately. The valet team was excellent — warm, efficient, and especially kind and engaging with our toddler. They had a cart ready and made unloading seamless.nCheck-in was quick and smooth since we completed it online in advance. Within minutes, we were in our room. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-suited for a family — we had two beds and plenty of space, no issues at all.nWe used the pool and wellness area daily, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our stay. The space includes a pool, cold plunge, hot tub, sauna, and comfortable seating with towels readily available. The sauna stood out — properly hot and a great feature. The area was calm, not overcrowded, and very enjoyable.nThat said, accessibility to the pool area could be improved. Navigating doors with a stroller was a bit difficult, and there were steps without a ramp despite what looked like space for one. For families or anyone with mobility needs, this is an area the hotel should address.nLocation-wise, it’s excellent — walking distance to the Old Port, shopping, and plenty of dining options, making it very convenient for exploring the city.nNice added touches included complimentary bottled water at the entrance and a refill station in the gym, which was useful since we brought our own bottles. One suggestion: shift away from single-use plastic bottles and provide refillable bottles for guests — a small change with real environmental impact.nOverall, a great stay. Comfortable, well-located, family-friendly, and with standout service from the valet team. I would definitely recommend it.
We booked Le Westin for a long weekend getaway due to its convenient location and because they accommodate dogs. We paid quite a bit for a two night stay and additional fees due to having our dog with us, which was not an issue for us.nnUnfortunately, our stay started with a poor service experience right at check-in. The individual checking us in seemed very curt, gave us forms to sign for the inclusion of our dog with minimal explanation, handed us our keycards with the room number and no further information or guidance.nnThis is a large establishment with facilities for conferences and business meetings and other things unrelated to our stay, and after a 5+ hour drive, the staff watched us drag our luggage and dog up the escalator with no direction on how to find the guest room elevators or which direction to take. We walked back and forth for about 10-15 minutes trying to find our way before we had to ask another guest how to find the right elevators which were tucked around a corner, completely out of sight, on the other end of the building. There were three staff members on the ground level where we checked in and yet none of them thought to point us in the right direction, opting to watch us drag around all our bags in the opposite direction instead.nnSuch a disappointing experience and we would not return to a Westin property again.
