My wife and I stopped by for a night when in Montreal. The decor and feel of the hotel is very charming and rustic. Staff we have met have all been very pleasant and responsive. We enjoyed the 4th fl room overlooking the port. Room was very clean, and nicely laid out. I typically don't have a lot of love for hotel beds but this one was very good. The bathroom was very clean, nicely laid out, and had a very nice shower. A single chair in the room made seating possible only for one so another chair would have been nice. We also enjoy having a microwave in our room and missed that. Very nice place and look forward to coming back in the spring or summer.

Nice location. Pleasant rooms. Like most of the other hotels in the area, parking is a nightmare.
Check in was simple. Staff are friendly. There was construction in the lobby at the time of my visit, but they stopped the hammering while we were checking in.
Nice place. Great for a short trip to Montreal. I will definitely be returning.

My (then) girlfriend and I picked this boutique hotel to spend our long weekend in Old Montreal. When we chose this location I opted for the champagne/chocolate package. We had a very early flight and got to the hotel around 1 pm and we were met at the front desk/check in area by Lara (Lora?). She was so awesome! Incredibly friendly and gave us a bunch of ideas on things we could do for the afternoon as our room wasn't ready yet. She had one of the bellhops take our baggage and secure it while we went on our way.
When we arrived back in the afternoon we were given our room keys and headed up to our 4th floor room. As we walked in smiles came across our faces, the room was awesome. Our bags were placed nicely by the bed, the exposed brick wall really made the room pop. On the desk was a package of macaroons and a plate wrapped in saran wrap of the most decadent chocolate brownie type desserts I've ever had. As I said, the room was very nice and very clean. The shower was awesome with it's classic down pour head as well as 3 optional body sprays and the hand held wand. After being in the room about 5 minutes our phone rang, it was the front desk making sure everything was up to par in the room, which frankly, all hotels should do but don't, it's really a nice touch.
Along with our package we received a daily stipend for breakfast so we regularly ordered room service which came pretty promptly. The food was pretty good, nothing spectacular as far as breakfast goes but as far as how they could make this experience better, we had to ask for salt and pepper each time and if we didn't, it wasn't brought and the ketchup bottle on more than one occasion was practically empty. This isn't a big deal if you're eating in the restaurant as you can ask for more, but when you're in the room it would be nice if they made certain you had everything you could need as far as condiments go.
Now, the first full day we were in Montreal, little did anyone know, I was planning on asking my girlfriend to marry me (which I did in the Notre Dame square and she said yes!). After my new fiance and I returned to the hotel we saw that Lara was working and since we were flying high and didn't have anyone to tell (we wanted to wait until we were home to tell family/friends in person) we told her. She seemed genuinely happy for us and was all smiles. That evening I had made plans to eat a restaurant in town (La Champagnerie) and the reservation was for later in the evening. We were hungry so the other girl at the front desk called them and managed to get us an earlier seating. Upon arriving at the restaurant we found out that the folks at Auberge purchased 2 glasses of champagne for us as a congratulations on our engagement, a very classy touch. When we returned back to the hotel we thanked the front desk and headed up to our room. As we walked in we saw that on the desk was a bucket of ice and a bottle of champagne along with a congratulatory note about the engagement, that was just so incredibly thoughtful and really made the night extra special.
Another thing that was nice was the detail given to the room while we were gone. The bed was always made very nice, new towels, the sink and bathroom were always cleaned up and fresh bottles of water by the bedside every day.
Thank you so much Lara and staff for making this so special! We will definitely be back!

We stayed at the hotel with our teenage daughters - 2 rooms for the 4 of us and we all loved the hotel. It is charming, has great location right in the old part of Montreal and a wonderfully friendly and efficient staff. The lobby area is cozy and now nicely decorated for Christmas and it is a wonderful touch to have warm tea, hot chocolate and coffee for guests in the lobby.
