Courtyard by Marriott Montreal Downtown

Young professional? Don’t go. Me and my girlfriend came here on business, and despite having the reservations for weeks, when I arrived they lost the reservation, made me pay upfront in the middle of the night just to get a room. Staff was rude and clearly prioritizing older clients as they thought two kids don’t. Have money. As I checked out, they insisted that we were to clean the room to receive my deposit back when I explained I was rushing to a meeting. All of the older clients that were being helped beside me were instantly refunded for theirs while I had to wait for confirmation that the room was alright. As I type this they ignore me and answer phones. Worst thing is I used to work for a Courtyard so I know what the service can be and should be - this was far from it.

Great courtyard with all modern facilities. Fairly close to downtown attractions by walk. Room was super clean and had great views. Did not try the restaurant so cannot comment. They brought in extra water for me without my asking which was a nice touch. Overall great experience.

I have stayed at this property twice a month since it opened. There are only good things to say. From the moment you enter they make you feel welcome. Rooms are great. Restaurant very good. Pool, fitness center excellent. Location cannot be better. My compliments to management.

Had everything we needed. Wheelchair adapted room was spacious, bathroom and shower easy to navigate for someone with very limited mobility. Bed was comfy, housekeeping quick and courteous, pool area very basic but hot was HOT and steam bath was clean and delightful. Nicely decorated. Friendly service.

I stay here every week and have been doing so for the past 12 months or so The good: huge rooms, very clean, very comfortable and modern. Quiet with all the usual amenities (good a/c, iron, fridge etc). Really great staff. Always get a nice welcome and am made to feel at home. Parking garage is great - modern, spacious and well lit. Always plenty of free space. The bad: Occasionally I’ve had a room where the faucet doesn’t run cold as one of the other reviews mentioned. Not sure what the issue is there but it didn’t effect my stay. Sometimes in the height of summer the A/C kicks into ‘high gear’ and is intolerably noisy. Easily resolved by turning the thermostat down in stages so it stays in its gentle cooling mode.
