Updated 2024.11.03 The Bonaventure Montreal hotel is one of two hotels connected to the VIA Montreal train station by way of an underground corridor which makes it convenient to stay at when traveling by train as well as bus lines nearby. The lobby is located on the tenth floor, with rooms located above and below the lobby level. There's an additional elevator for those in need to help reach the room floor levels without requiring the use of the stairs. There's an outdoor-heated swimming pool open year round which makes it just a bit more appealing and a fun place to be as the pool is popular and well-used by adults and families with children.nnThe room is very nicely furnished, a mini-fridge, shower with a handheld shower and a fixed shower head for a rain forest experience except with hot water, the shower control is easy to use with a short learning curve. Toilet is a water sense water saver, but I found the handle pushes down from the back instead of the front and found that annoying. Also lacking a grab bar by the toilet. The bed was a very spacious king-sized bed, with good support and four long feather pillows usable as a body pillow. A digital thermostat to control the temperature. In the hallway is an ice machine and a microwave to heat up your food.nnIt's an expensive place to stay, but it's quite nice if you are able to afford it.
Lovely hotel with great views. Beautiful interior design, the rooms are neat, clean and comfy. Great location with plenty of underground paid parking available.nnThere is a cool roof top pool, jacuzzi, bar, restaurant conference rooms, gym, beautiful well decorated lounge spaces and plenty of parking spaces. Spa service is outsourced and the company would have to be booked to have the spa session in your room, that was unusual for me.nnIt was disappointing that the Sauna wasn't working during our stay there. So, after a swim, there was no Sauna available nnI still can't understand why there isn't complimentary bottle water and the receptionists are quite elusive with providing one. We were told to go to gym to get one from the dispenser but that was empty throughout. It was pretty frustrating.nnFor me, it was too pricey for the service provided. Not commensurate.
We love this hotel and have been coming back every couple of years for a long time. Amazing pool area, great 24 hour gym, and excellent service. My only complaint is accessibility. We had to wander all over the place to find a ramp or one of the few entirely hidden elevators to get our stroller/trolley to the room. More and better ramps and better signage for where these elevators are would be much appreciated.
Unfortunately for us, we visited this hotel at the wrong time and way overpaid for what we got. I agree with other recent reviews - this hotel needs some TLC. Thankfully, our room was clean and didn't have water stains, etc. The heated pool and one working hot tub were lovely - one hot tub was inoperable and the sauna never seemed to be on. Gym facility is great! Unbeknownst to us, we booked while almost all the service staff were on strike. We stayed for 4 nights and our room was never cleaned, restaurant was not open. Of course there was no discount on the price even with the severely reduced service. We wanted to love it, and tried to convince ourselves it was worth it - but at the price we paid, we made the best of it. I think this stay has soured us from ever staying here again in the future. There must be comparably priced hotels with similar amenities that are not in such disrepair.
Hotel Bonaventure is great!! It’s right in the middle of downtown and has an outdoor, heated pool and seasonal hot tub on the roof! The garden, trees and brook made us feel like we were at ground level, despite being on the 10th floor of the hotel!nnThere were a few quirky things that happened in our room. Despite a few attempts to fix them, they were not completely resolved. They were small, but kind of annoying things.nnUpon check in, they told us that the hotel is all on one level and there are no elevators. We did have to go up some stairs to get to our room. Strange, since it’s all on one level…nnUpon checkout, we mentioned these things and they could not have been more apologetic, accommodating and willing to make it up to us.nnWe were just giving feedback, and they went out of their way to make us happy.nnThey succeeded!! They went above and beyond. I will happily stay there again when in Montreal.
