Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth

Recently stayed for a work conference. Conveniently located, both from the airport - about a 25 min ride - and to many places in the downtown area. It is walking distance from a large mall - Eaton Center - which came in handy for me that week b/c the airlines had delayed the delivery of my luggage for 3 days. And while they are going through a labor dispute, the existing staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are accommodating for a single though might be a little tight for 2 or more, esp if you have kids.

Staying at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth was a life-changer for me. The room was quiet, the location was convenient, and the amenities like the gym and pool were exactly what you’d expect from a Fairmont. That said, the rooms are starting to feel a little dated.nnThe real standout, though, had nothing to do with the hotel itself—it was the sleep I got. It was so good that I ended up purchasing four pillows and an entire bedding set from the Fairmont online store. Ever since, my sleep has been incredible. I used to take 30 minutes to fall asleep, but now I’m out in 10. If you want the best sleep of your life, this is the place to stay!

I was in Montreal, QC for work and a conference and the Fairmont QE hotel was a great hotel for the conference. While the team managing the hotel and the team managing the food for the conference were working very hard, it was clear they were a bit scattered due to the labor disputes and it would have been nice for more of the facilities to be open / accessible. Great rooms and the fit/finish was great.

Dear management,nnAs we arose from the train station we were welcomed by picket lines, a sense of fear descended upon us. We located the side door and entered the stunning grand lobby, a welcome from security did ease our anxiety. We arrived at the front desk and Estelle was there to welcome us again. She kindly explained the situation and immediately offered us a room upgrade, the gold experience we booked was further enhanced.nnArriving at our room, well appointed and clean, stunning views over Montreal. We settled and unpacked.nnOverall, despite the lack of intimate details and service we were always welcomed with a hello and on a named basis. Being our anniversary, the extra touch was not missed, the hotel management went above and beyond and arranged champagne and handmade truffles for us to celebrate after a meal in old town.nnWe both Hope a resolution is made with the staff as the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth is an institution of hospitality and service for Montreal. We had a really nice stay. Everyone was kind, genuine and helpful. Francis at the concierge desk was incredible with helping me plan my days spent exploring the city solo. I left armed with a map and the confidence to take on the city. Without his help I would have really struggled. Ali was very helpful as well making sure to answer my questions and make sure we had an option so we didn't have to carry our bags around Montreal with us the next day before our flight left.
