Great Wall Mongolian B.B.Q

It's a great place to eat until you want to explode. I have been coming here for probably 10 years or so, it's gone through a couple management changes but things mostly stay the same. I enjoy the food and since you build your own bowl you are in charge of everything. Getting a single bowl and stacking it sky high was always my strategy and was great for a high school then UBC student. The restaurant is a bit dark and dingy so don't expect anything more than a "hole in the wall" type of feel. But the servers are nice and I have never had a bad experience with them. I don't live in Vancouver anymore, but if I'm back and have am in the neighbourhood for lunch I usually stop in.

I love this place. How often can you go to a restaurant and get a dish exactly the way you want it. There are lots of different sauces to be creative with. I love the garlic, peanut and teriyaki sauces, a perfect combination for me. The food is prepared in minutes and comes to the table steaming hot. I found the staff very good and the prices very reasonable for an All-You-Can-Eat meal. It is well worth the 35 minute drive from Richmond.

It is still great. My only complaint it that the cook keeps pouring water onto the food while it cooks, washing any sauce that was added. Result hot bland food.

Learn your sauce and you will be forever rewarded!! They provide the meat choice, vegetable choice, noodle choice, and sauce choice. Then....a great chef cooks it all up to the perfect doneness. If it tastes bad it’s because you messed up the sauces. Again. Learn your sauce and you will be forever rewarded!!❤️❤️

Love this place. Low key. Great hot and sour soup. Dinner special for $15. Always fresh ingredients.
