Food was good and service was decent. We had the duck and burger and both came out perfect. Service could've been better because we had to wait a while to wave down a waitress/waiter whenever we wanted something. Quite pricey for a lunch meal but will revisit just for the food.

Had an issue with the 'Skirt steak' or 'bavette' for dinner the other night. Though it was tasty as was the rest of my meal, I noticed that it wasn't skirt steak (or even flank) but flat iron steak instead. Upon finishing my meal, I went right to the manager to ask about it. I was met with denial. Spoke to the chef who happily showed me the raw cut that was clearly a flat iron cut. For those that know the difference between the two, they are completely different. The latter being from the abdomen and the former is a shoulder cut. If you question my opinion here, check the images in the google review and you too will see a flat iron steak and not a skirt. Anyways, i happen to love skirt steak and was really disappointed that it wasn't actually skirt steak. Was really surprised that both the manager and more importantly the chef don't know the difference either. The lack of simple knowledge and or integrity in a restaurant here make me question the whole operation. I suppose it would have been nice to have been asked how I would have liked the manager to handle the situation too rather than be met with denial and refusal to acknowledge my perspective. So I calmly payed and left and here I am sharing my experience in hopes to help another.

Charming! My husband and I stopped in for lunch. It was lovely. So much Character. From the sewing tables to the doors which open up in the front like being transported to old France. The food was fresh and tasty. Service was very efficient. The desserts looked amazing. But we were too full to try one. All in all a great time. We will return.

I had 30 minutes to kill before meeting up with family and it was pouring rain. I asked for a seat at the bar which had 4 empty seats and was told that the bar is only for "dinner customers" and that I wouldn't be welcome for a drink. I would have had at least one cocktail and some appetizers but being turned away in favor of "dinner customers" really turned me off. In addition, I was offered zero explanation other than "the bar is for dinner groups." What's the point of a bar if as a solo diner I can't sit? Doess place shame you if you want to just come in for a drink and a snack? Are they struggling that hard to get by? Seems like it. I've never been turned away as a solo diner before in Vancouver. Seems like the server and bar staff were cherry picking big groups for tips. Would not recommend.

I have never been to a restaurant with so many shamelessly rude people working in it. The first time we came here it was for coffee and a snack during the summer and every interaction with the waiter was unpleasant. He kept acting like we were bothering him - even when we asked for a spoon to eat the soup we ordered, since he forgot. We chalked it up to the waiter having a bad day and paid our bill and left. We decided to give it another go today and it was even worse. The server/host/whoever he is that sat us down was rude from the moment we walked through the door. Completely unprofessional and obnoxious. He sat us at the bar for lunch and the bartender was just as rude. It was almost 2pm and we asked if we could order a salad from the main menu (rather than the brunch menu) and we received a drawn out "no" that was drenched in attitude, arrogance, and disgust, as if even the thought of us asking about the menu was a waste of his precious time. Having had a similar experience the previous time we were there, we decided we had had enough of their arrogance and left to go eat elsewhere. They do not care about their clients at all. At one point today, the server arrogantly said "Look around, the place is full, it's obviously good". The attitude of the staff here reflect this general way of thinking - they have good food (although I wouldn't know because we never really had the chance to try it) so they don't care about their service whatsoever. I wish I had looked at the reviews before even going here the 1st time because I never would have walked through their doors had I known this is how they treat their clients, and I never will again. A good restaurant is not just about the food, but also the experience. I don't care how good the food is, if I'm going to be treated like sh**, I will take my business elsewhere.
