One of the worst hospitals in the Halton region. I used to live in Milton and experienced excellent care at their hospital, but after moving to Wellington County, Georgetown Hospital became our closest option—and it’s been an utter disappointment.nnFrom the moment we arrived, it was clear this hospital is in serious decline. The corridors are dirty, the floors are cracked, and several doors are broken. The entire facility feels like it’s falling apart.nnTo make matters worse, there are no staff members to be seen anywhere. It feels like a ghost town. There’s zero communication, no updates, and absolutely no presence of anyone to help or even ask questions. It’s unacceptable for a hospital to be this deserted, especially in an emergency department.nnWe were told the wait time was 4 hours, but it's now almost 6:00 a.m.—nearly 6 hours since we arrived. The wait time estimator originally said we’d be seen by 3:00 a.m., but clearly, that system is completely broken. What’s the point of even having a wait time estimator if it’s this inaccurate? When we brought it up to the registered nurse, he just said, “Oh no, the wait times are going to drastically change and go up now.” Why—because we asked about it? That’s a bizarre and unacceptable response. If you know your system is inaccurate, fix it. Don’t shrug it off.nnEven worse, we were told we were “next,” yet we’ve been sitting here for nearly an hour after the person before us was called in and has already left. It doesn’t take 50 minutes to clean a bed and turn over a room. Meanwhile, a family across from us—with visibly sick, small children—has passed out in their seats, waiting just as long. It’s not just frustrating—it’s inhumane.nnChildren should never be left in this kind of situation. Every other hospital I've ever been to prioritizes pediatric cases. But not here. It’s as if no one cares.nnJust take a look at the Google reviews—this isn’t new. It’s consistent. The hospital replies with the same scripted lines over and over to give the illusion that they “care,” but clearly, they don’t give a damn. If they did, these issues wouldn’t be happening every single day.nnThe one saving grace was the doctor we eventually saw. He was absolutely amazing—he diagnosed my daughter within 10 minutes, explained the root cause of her ear infection, and gave us clarity we’d been waiting hours for. He was kind, efficient, and clearly experienced. It’s unfortunate that such a capable doctor is working in a place that’s so poorly run.nnAfter this experience, I will never return to this hospital. I’d rather make the extra 30-minute drive to Milton or go to any other hospital that provides even a basic standard of care. Georgetown Hospital needs a complete overhaul—from management and staffing to operations and infrastructure. What’s happening here isn’t just disappointing—it’s disgusting.
I have only good things to say about this hospital, I had to have 3 different surgeries over the past year and as far as surgeries go, I would have to rate all the staff, Nurses and Dr's as 5 stars Plus!!! From the admitting staff, through the pre & post op staff everyone made it less stressful and as comfortable as possible. A Big Thank you to Dr. Lu for his expertise and great surgical abilities. Thanks as well to the amazing physio staff for getting me through this with total encouragement! As far as having to go to a hospital goes I would have to say Georgetown is definitely my recommendation. Thanks as well to all the volunteers!!! I couldn't have done this without them helping me get around too!nKeep up the great work!!nThanks to all of you I can now go for a walk!
Georgetown is a small but mighty hospital. I have had 5 orthopedic surgeries there since 2019 to correct birth defects affecting my feet. Dr Chris Lu and the amazing surgical and day surgery staff are the absolute best. I live in Toronto and had been waiting over 5 years to be seen by a Toronto Doctor. I had an appointment with Dr. Lu within 6 weeks of my initial referral. I was rejected by an Ottawa hospital as I didn't live in the area. Georgetown welcomed me with open arms. LOVE THIS HOSPITAL.
We were there today with my wife and let me tell you what a kind wonderful and compassionate staff you have. They treated us with respect and care. Been there a few times for myself or our younger kids. Nothing but wonderful experiences every time even though it's a hospital and no one wants to be there. Thank you to your entire staff from triage to nurses and doctors and everyone else!
My name is Susan and I had a pleasant experience today with a nurse in internal medicine at the Georgetown Hospital. Her name is Nishita. A wonderful, attentive nurse. She was so pleasant and very caring. She went above and beyond and I will never forget my experience with her. Thank you Nishita.
