Great place to stop for lunch, drinks, or both! The gentleman seating everyone was friendly. Our waitress was attentive and personable. Everything we had tasted great! The fresh, warm bread and olive oil is an awesome starter. The salad and house made dressing is also a great choice. The Bar Harbor Burger was cooked perfectly. Port wine was a perfect finish! If there is no room outside to sit, I recommend upstairs near the window.
Had an excellent dinner at Galyn's. Brian was our server. He was very attentive and personable. Meal was excellent. Had the Maine combination which included 2 small lobster tails with melted butter, 2 scallops with a sauce pesto-type that was amazing. And one of the best crab cakes I have ever had with a sauce that was also very very good. Shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. Shrimp were so large and tender. Dessert was the blueberry/apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. A fantastic meal and excellent service
If you are looking for a more upscale restaurant with a more intimate atmosphere, this is your place. The setting is unique as the restaurant seems to be in an old home that has since been converted to a restaurant. The lighting is nice and the waitstaff are all very professional. Our waitress in particular was very attentive and kind. For our dinner, we started with the crab stuffed mushrooms and the traditional lobster bisque, both were tasty enough. For our entre, we both had the lobster fettuccine- the flavors here were decent as well and the amount of lobster in it for the price we paid was acceptable. We ended the night with their blueberry-apple crisp topped with ice cream- it tasted nice as well though I am partial to my own fruit crisps that I make at home and Galyn's did not convert me, ha. In all, it was a pleasant experience and we would recommend you give them a try if you're in Bar Harbor. They are located right in the downtown area near the harbor, perfect location for going for a walk after dinner.
We are here on our last night in Bar Harbor while visiting from Delaware. We really enjoyed our meal. The place has great ambience whether you are in the front or the back. The service was friendly and the food was excellent. I ordered bacon wrapped scallops and a whole lobster which did not disappoint. If you are looking for a nice night out while in Bar Harbor we would definitely recommend this place.
Our experience at Galyn's was absolutely perfect! We ordered the twin lobster tail dinner and a hot buttery lobster roll, and both were amazing! We also ordered the Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale. We wish we could've brought a to-go plate home to Georgia. The atmosphere was also very nice, especially in the dining room with the view of the water.
We ate here today after walking around downtown and it was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Bar Harbor. Our service was exceptional even with the Holiday weekend and our food was top notch. We had the Maine sampler collection and I had the halibut special. Our entrees were perfection as were the cocktails and the French wine pairing.
We felt this place was fine, but definitely over rated here on Google. The lobster bisque was excellent, as was the service and nice view. However, the linguine was overcooked with watery sauce, and the lobster roll didn't have the right ratio of meat to bread. Definitely felt these were not worth the hefty price tag. But the bisque was good enough to come just for a light meal.
Best lobster I’ve ever had! Staff was kind and knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions about lobster and the area. We came here after Geddy’s was sort of a bust, but Galyn’s did not disappoint. And all things considered, it was probably the cheapest lobster dinner I’ve ever had too. We were lucky enough to get a table on the patio which was absolutely lovely. Very nice view of the harbor and park with lots of natural light. The lobster was cooked perfectly and easy to remove from the shell. We were told this was a female. The rice and broccolini were also delicious.
When vacationing we found this gem. Wonderful food, great atmosphere and friendly / responsible service with wait staff masking for safety. We ate here three times with great experiences each time. Stop in; you won't be disappointed.
Very cool place. Wanted to go next door to Geddy’s and was told it was a 2.5 hour wait. A guy on the street told me to come here because it was better. Recommended the blueberry lemonade with vodka and we went. And they did not disappoint. Great experience, wonderful food and a very friendly staff. Host was wonderful and our waiter was awesome too. A must stop if you are in Bar Harbor.
