We stayed 3 nights and were excited about this hotel. The moment we entered in the lobby, there was a strong bad smell. I don't understand how the staff members did not feel it. The smell felt like coming from carpets not cleaned for decades. Same story for our room, the floor carpet was super dirty as if it had never been cleaned. We were out the whole time and no one came to clean our room. We did not put the privacy sign on. Overall the hotel was not cheap at all, I would certainly not recommend staying there.
I’d like to begin by saying that the front desk employee who assisted us on our first night did everything he could to help. He was polite, understanding, and explained that housekeeping was no longer available that late in the evening. This complaint is not directed at him, as he was limited by what he was able to do.nnOur concern is with the condition of the room and how the situation was handled afterward.nnWhen we entered our room, we immediately noticed that the bed sheets were visibly stained. We went downstairs because we were not comfortable sleeping in a bed with stained bedding. Since housekeeping had already left, the front desk employee brought replacement sheets to our room.nnUnfortunately, the replacement sheets were also stained. We also found multiple hairs on the bedding. As we looked around the room further, we noticed stained window blinds and very dirty carpets throughout the room. We have photographs documenting all of these issues, including both sets of stained sheets.nnTo make matters worse, we had to be awake at 5:00 AM for an early flight. Instead of getting the rest we needed, we spent our evening inspecting the room, speaking with the front desk, waiting for replacement bedding, and remaking the bed ourselves.nnBefore we left, we were told that someone would contact us at 9:00 AM to resolve the situation. When no one reached out, I called the hotel myself, only to be told that the manager would not be back for another two weeks. This was extremely frustrating, as it directly contradicted what we had been told the night before and left us feeling as though we were simply being passed along without anyone taking ownership of the issue.nnThe experience that morning was made even worse by the way we were treated. Unlike the front desk employee from the previous evening, who was kind and genuinely tried to help, the front desk employee we spoke with in the morning was unfriendly, dismissive, and showed little concern for what we had experienced. After everything that had already happened, this lack of customer service was incredibly disappointing.nnTo add to the frustration, the airport shuttle also arrived approximately 10 minutes late, creating unnecessary stress when we were already trying to make an early flight.nnThis isn’t about one stain or one isolated issue. It’s about multiple cleanliness concerns throughout the room, replacement bedding that was also stained, hairs on the bedding, dirty blinds, dirty carpets, inconsistent communication from hotel staff, poor customer service the following morning, and additional inconvenience caused by the late shuttle.nnWe are not looking for a generic apology stating that this room “fell short of expectations.” We would like to understand:nn* How did a room in this condition pass inspection and get released to guests?n* Why were replacement sheets also stained?n* Why were we told someone would contact us at 9:00 AM, only to later be told the manager would not be available for two weeks?n* What specific steps will be taken to ensure this does not happen to future guests?n* What resolution do you believe is appropriate given everything that occurred?nnWe appreciate the professionalism and effort of the front desk employee who helped us on our first night. Unfortunately, every other aspect of this experience—from the cleanliness of the room to the communication afterward—fell well below what we expected. We hope your response addresses each of these concerns directly rather than providing a standard, generic reply.
Room was clean and comfortable. It was very hot/stuffy when I came in as the AC was off but it cooled off pretty quickly once it was turned back on. It was very loud everytime it clicked on throughout the night, so I did not get a good night sleep. The front desk team was polite and helpful with baggage storage. Good location to be able to walk to Walmart, Marshalls, Winners, Lansdowne Centre, etc. They also had a decent selection of snacks available for purchase near the front desk. The front desk was able to let me check in early thankfully 4pm check in seems quite late.nnHowever the breakfast was not good, it was very basic - eggs, bacon, pancakes, muffins/pastries that looked stale, cereal, expired yogurt and bruised fruit. Pretty sure you’re not supposed to serve yogurt that expired exactly 1 month ago. Not worth $20 a person.nnOther than that, my hotel stay was fine.
I recently stayed at the Grand Park Vancouver Airport Hotel, and my experience with the front desk was very disappointing.nnThe evening before my flight on July 30th, I asked the women PM supervisor and man agent to book me on the airport shuttle. They confirmed it was arranged and told me what time to come down the next morning. When I arrived at 6:00 a.m, I was told there was no shuttle reservation under my name.nnThe morning front desk employee called the PM supervisor while I was standing there. I could hear the entire conversation, and the supervisor’s attitude was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Rather than taking responsibility for the mistake, she blamed everything on me, when it was simply not my fault as they confirmed it was booked and to come down at 6am. That’s what i did.nnBecause of the hotel’s mistake, I had to pay for an Uber to make my flight. They did not offer to pay. Throughout this experience, I was also carrying several heavy bags, and despite everything that had happened, no one offered to help with my luggage. The morning employee was much kinder than the supervisor, but the lack of professionalism and accountability from someone in a leadership role was extremely disappointing.
This is by far the worst hotel.nI am extremely disappointed with the handling of my refund request.nnI accidentally made a duplicate reservation for the same hotel on the same dates and realized the mistake within hours of booking. I immediately contacted customer service and requested cancellation of one of the reservations. My check-in was scheduled for the very next day, meaning the hotel had ample notice and would not have incurred any preparation or occupancy loss for the cancelled room.nnHowever, I was informed that, according to the hotel's policy, no refund would be provided.nnThe reservations in question are:nnItinerary #73478393020473nItinerary #73480044016666nnI fully understand that cancellation policies exist to protect hotels from lost revenue when guests cancel legitimate reservations. However, this situation involves an honest mistake resulting in a duplicate booking of the same property for the same dates. I was not attempting to cancel my entire stay—only the duplicate reservation that was made in error.nnGiven the circumstances and the promptness of my cancellation request, I believe a full refund for the duplicate booking would be both reasonable and fair. Not recommending this hotel as the dont care about customer service.
