Fifth Avenue Cinemas

Theatre experience was descent. Our chairs were comfy and reclined a bit like rocking chairs! But the Nachos? Don’t buy them cuz they’re awful. They should be taken off the menu in my opinion.

What an abysmal experience. The only good thing about this theatre is the location, but otherwise poor management and ridiculous design makes this arguably the worst cineplex in Vancouver. Lack of attendees to check tickets at the entrance resulted in the first extended wait of the evening. Then poorly managed concession lines added an additional 10+ minutes of waiting. On top of that, someone who appeared to be a manager yelled at guests to have their scene card ready to ensure the line moved faster. Interesting he made guests feel at fault while two registers were not being used and he quickly retired back to his office instead of helping clear the lines. Then the seats. Glad they recline but having someone reclining into my knees the whole movie got old very fast. They absolutely need to put on a limit on how much the chairs can recline cause having someone essentially in my lap really ruins the moviegoing experience. Never returning

Honestly disappointed with the prices and the cinema quality. Tuesday prices for screenings are good, but a popcorn and soda “large” size combo for 20 dollars is nuts. I don’t know if all screens are like this, but the auditorium that we went I believe it was screen number 5 was super low, with almost zero inclination and with a less-than-regular-sized screen. If this was meant to be an “intimate” theatre, I guess they got away with it. On the positive side, there’s a good selection of meals and drinks in the bar inside the cinema, and the location is excellent.

Great little cinema. The whole place is adults only, and has a bar if you want to get a drink before/during/after. Perfect for a date night. What's not to like?!
