Story

Home to over 60 retail stores, 10 beautiful LED displays, convenient and FREE underground parking, and a food court that can satisfy the most curious of taste buds, International Village Mall also proudly offers one of only two Cineplex theatres in the downtown Vancouver core.

IVM is proof that one can experience global offerings while staying local. By offering a unique blend of modern entertainment, commerce, art galleries, and a diverse range of services while remaining true to the cultural communities that define its surrounding neighbourhoods and to Vancouver’s beloved multicultural landscape.

Located in the heart of one of the city’s most dynamic districts, IVM is not only the central hub that connects the three historical neighbourhoods of Chinatown, Gastown and Yaletown, but is conveniently situated within walking distance from BC Place, Rogers Arena, and the Plaza of Nations. International Village Mall, previously known as “Tinseltown” and still affectionately referred to as such by generations of Vancouverites, is distinctly recognizable with its own Cineplex Odeon theatres on the third floor. IVM has been home to a number of local film festivals such as the popular Vancouver International Film Festival, the Vancouver Asian Film Festival, and the Vancouver Queer Film Festival.

Conveniently located just a block away from various major bus routes and the Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain station on the Expo/Millenium Line, visit International Village Mall today! The first two hours of parking are FREE for mall patrons!

This is my favourite cineplex locationnnThey play such unique films. And it’s always quiet, I’ve had the theater to myself for 4 films here Annabelle, strays twice, and sting recently the staff are great, thanks to the manager for taking my offer into consideration for the late night with the devil poster and for letting me use the washroom despite not having a ticket.nnAnd the theater itself is built great, the balcony seats are unique and the theaters all being differently built makes it charmingnnAnd plus? It’s possibly the cleanest cineplex I’ve been too.
It was pretty quiet for the first n second showings. I had my choice of seats n got to sit in my fav spot. Staff were kind n generous. I was very excited to see The Colour Purple . I enjoyed it a lot. Loved the mix of drama n music. Def come again. It's my first time seeing a movie since the start of the pandemic.
It's decent, not bad not amazing. Seats are pretty uncomfortable but I think that's any Cineplex that doesn't have recliners. Big theatres lots of space, staff are good, seems pretty clean, regular theatre food, it's nice that they have self serve pop so you can get free refills. I wish they would put the sound up for the movies, the last two times I've found it to be too low, hard to hear all dialogue clearly. Not sure why they have speakers on the walls when the sound seems to come from under the screen.
I recently visited Cineplex Odeon to watch Kung Fu Panda 4 in 3D. While the movie was decent, my focus is more on the theater experience. I found the staff to be friendly and the entire place well-organized. It was convenient to have a recycling box for 3D glasses and the option to order popcorn and drinks from the cinema store. The washrooms were also clean. Overall, a pleasant experience.
This is one of my favorite theatres, shows more independent and smaller release films in addition to blockbusters, plus offers free parking.nnI had to lower the rating though, since I sat through a rerelease of the Matrix and the projector had a bright blue stuck pixel in a prominent part of the screen. Not why I spend money to go to a theatre.
