Extendicare West End Villa

My grandfather is currently staying here, I visit him 1-2 times a week, everytime is horrible. The staff are rude, lazy and they are all constantly staring at their phones. I asked one of the staff to tell his nurse about something, when I came back 3 days later I was informed that no one told him, when I asked the clerk lady she responded only after standing there for a minute before noticing us she was on her phone and responded to us in a very condescending tone. Do not put your family here.

One of my most terrible work experiences was at Extendicare. The management was disrespectful, often placing undue burdens on employees and refusing to take responsibility for failures. There seemed to be a clique within the organization, ready to sabotage those they didn't favor. Despite the presence of a union, which was aware of the corruption within management, support and protection for employees were lacking. Additionally, their actions led to a high turnover of employees. My advice to anyone considering employment there is to thoroughly research the company beforehand.

Very few staff are nice when breakfast was served egg snd toast were in water the helper said it was condensation, in a plate of water. Guy laughs and made things worse. This place I would not recommend to put a loved one in is highly not recommended. This is just one incident among countless others.

Wow there short staffed but they are overworked and still continue to do there best. This rating not about the staff but the conditions of the place.double occupancy and none of the 3 or 4 power outlets even work. So no phone charging,or radios or a fan can be plugged in pretty much jail cells are cleaner and better equipped.nI thank the staff for their continued efforts under these circumstances and it's not there fault. Horrendous . I know it's covered by ohip but wow at least give them power or all a 90 year old person can do is stare at the walls. Our government gives more money away to other countries and causes that benefit them not health care. Sad!!nMy mother has been there for a month and still ignored. Anyway it's too bad not only for patients but the staff also have to work under these conditions.

I have been very pleased with the care my mother is receiving at the west end villa. Yes, it is an older building, however the quality of care is more important then how modern the facilities are. The staff are always pleasant, willing to answer any and all questions and most importantly my mom is always commenting on how nice everyone is there. They are checking on her regularly and always greet her with a smile and try to cheer her up a little when they stop by. Happy to recommend this long term care facility.
