I had the pleasure of dining at Evangeline, and I must say, Brittany, our server, made the experience exceptional. Her warm demeanor added a personal touch to our evening. The atmosphere at Evangeline was perfect for catching up with close friends.  The food was amazing. Every app i  tried was full with flavor and beautifully presented. The staff at Evangeline, including Brittany, were not only friendly but also knowledgeable about the menu. They even made a substitution for me as I am vegetarian  It's clear that they take great care in maintaining a pristine environment for their customers.  Overall, my visit to Evangeline was fantastic, can't wait to return for another unforgettable dining experience:

I love the rooftop bar and usually it’s a great cozy and relaxing ambiance with awesome wine. Unfortunately, there is one waiter that has very bad attitude and made us feel not welcomed during multiple visits. We have been denied entrance by her to the outside portion of the bar because we are not hotel guests, waited 20 mins for a menu or were questioned in a very condescending tone as if we can’t afford to be there. It really ruins the experience and I don’t appreciate being treated that way. It saddens me because it was my favorite place but I don’t think I will be returning any time soon.

Unpretentious and effortlessly cool. We were there on a Saturday late afternoon early evening, and it never filled up with people so we had lots of space and it was never noisy. Attentive service and gorgeous interior. Architecture by Brigitte Shim and Howard Sutcliffe of  Shim-Sutcliffe. Delicious churros 4 for $10 and tuna tartare with fresh potato crisps $20. Excellent cocktails. Would return again and again!

Mixed reviews here.  I came twice during my stay at the Ace hotel.  As I was traveling for work alone, I asked at the desk if the bars were laptop friendly.  They said absolutely.  When I went upstairs to Evangeline, I was told they did not allow laptops.  Fine.  I checked in for my flight and put it away.  After that the wait staff ignored me.  I was prepared to order food, another drink, etc.  but despite my being 3 feet from another table which was taking regular service, no one stopped at my table.  I’m pretty chill about these things but I did feel actively ignored.  Maybe not a great place for solo travelers trying to get a bit of work done.

My date and I went to check out this rooftop bar after dinner tonight ^^ Since they don't take reservations, we were lucky to get seats on this busy Thursday night ~8:30pm. It is located on the 14th floor at the Ace Hotel Toronto. We took the guest elevator from the hotel lobby to the top and were greeted by one of the waitresses. She said we could sit anywhere and brought over a menu.  Most seats/tables were taken at that time, only some seats near the fireplaces on both ends were left - those seats are NOT the most ideal; it gets really hot, and I can feel my corneas drying out. We even asked if they could turn down the fireplace, and the waitress said they couldn't. It is also really warm inside Evangeline, so you can dress a little less don't come in a sweater lol.  Nonetheless, the drinks were delicious, and the service was A+! Just remember to not sit near the fireplaces if you don't have to... consider sitting at the bar to watch how drinks are made!

I've been to Ace in different cities multiple times, and it's usually a great time. However, on my most recent visits with some friends, there was this one server who really stood out for the wrong reasons. She greeted us like we're intruders, and it just didn't fit with Ace's usual chill vibes. It was very awkward and uncomfortable. This experience happened after waiting for a menu for 30 minutes. It was the third time we had this server, and it's starting to make me think twice about returning, which is disappointing because I used to be a regular at Ace.

I mulled over sharing my experience but another friend recently had a similar issue so I feel those booking large groups / events should be warned.  For my birthday in June I booked a table for 14, paying a $500 deposit upfront. The 2 weeks leading up, I was in contact with one of their staff who by all accounts was prompt and friendly.  Upon arrival I was asked to wait at the bar, but as my party arrived they were told by staff that they “just found out about the reservation” or “didn’t know about it”.  Over 30min later we were finally shown to our area. There was no apology, no kind gesture to make up for the inconvenience and mistake on their part - there were also food substitutions made to the pre-ordered food without discussion.  When I emailed my contact to express my negative experience, I received a response from her and another Ace staff member outlining how they planned to prevent this in the future great - but that doesn't make any amends for my experience and another saying that they’d love to host us again also ? - I don't intend to re-host my birthday and spend another $1500. I replied by asking if they had any intention of rectifying the situation aside from offering to 'make me another reservation', which is frankly just a bizarre suggestion, and they ghosted me.  Disorganized. Inconsiderate. Very bad customer service.

This place and vibe is gorgeous!! The staff are super friendly and the food and drinks are incredible! Legit a hidden gem in the city. Feels like a sophisticated social club but at the same time down to Earth and inviting. So cool! Oh! And the views of the city from the rooftop patio !!!! CHEEEZ! haha. 5 stars.

Incredible rooftop atmosphere for cocktails and food! I was amazed by the great views the rooftop has and the overall ambiance was perfect. Also, the service was very attentive and my server went above and beyond to make sure I had a great time. Would 100 percent recommend to anyone looking for a new, very cool rooftop lounge atmosphere! 10/10
