Just walking by found this spot… and what a surprised!!! It was Easter Sunday, so, many places were closed for the holiday on King West… we walked in around 3ish and they were still serving brunch. Our bartender his name started with a T, he was awesome and super friendly, so was Pedro! Such friendly staff! The food was great! We had some mimosas and tried a few spicy margaritas, so tasty! I will definitely be coming back!!!
WOW! Everything was amazing. Came here for dinner on Tuesday and the place was almost packed around 8.00 pm . We got the oysters i guess it’s west coast oyster it looks like Kusshi oyster - squid ink Tagliatelle one of the tastiest things on our table - grilled salmon perfectly cooked- grilled octopus it’s really salty for us overall it’s tasty tho We can wait to go back to try more pastas and wagyu! Service was impressive even it’s busy.
Laissez Faire has to be one of my favourite brunch places of all time! Not being from Toronto, we came across this restaurant by asking Google for the “best brunch restaurants in Toronto”. What a find! The food is sooo good, I can’t even begin to describe how good it was. We had the pancakes, the avocado toast, the potatoes and the eggs benedict. Also, we got great service from all the employees. I will definitely come back during my next trip to Toronto! Loved everything about it!!
The place that seems like a perfect place for a nice, quiet dinner after a long week that turns out to be a hidden nook in between the busiest area in town with great food yet horrendous atmosphere. I honestly do not enjoy having to scream to a friend across the table. Even when we asked to lower down the music it still felt like I was at a concert. All that to say: venison was incredible and the oysters so fresh we ordered more. Gnocchi felt over cooked — really chewy, and scallops not seared properly — I felt the accent was more on the amounts of bacon rather than the seafood. Burrata is halved, not full, which isn’t clearly stated. A great take on beef tartare though! Would definitely order again. I’d also shine light on great wines and cocktails.
I recently dined at Laissez Faire and my experience was unfortunately underwhelming. While the arancini appetizer was just okay and the truffle gnocchi was the highlight of the meal with its bold flavours, the spinach tortellini in a Cacio Pepe sauce, which I ordered after informing the waitress of my nut allergy, seemed to have ground almonds or hazelnuts on the dish. The waitress did remove the dish from the bill after we brought this to her attention, but it was still concerning that the kitchen did not take proper precautions. If it weren’t for the excellent service in handling this mishap, my overall experience would have been very unsatisfactory. It’s disappointing when a restaurant falls short in such an important area, but I hope they take steps to improve their allergen handling procedures in the future. A picture of all the dishes were uploaded as reference
Went here for with a few of my girlfriends for brunch and had a salad, which was really tasty! Had a yummy truffle flavour to it. Drinks were good, had blood orange mimosa! Service was great, ambience was good. I will say though, I had to wear my winter jacket throughout my meal. Very very very cold.
Well worth the wait! Booked reservations for Disco Brunch months in advance. Food was delicious . Great energy! Fun decor. A brunch to remember
cocktails are great but quite expensive typical king west pricing i guess. seating is all high tops. some of the main dishes were really small. be prepared to spend nearly $100 per person for dinner.
Marco and his team took wonderful care of us. Service was attentive, food was impeccable and the atmosphere was anything but stuffy. I will most certainly be returning soon
Dinner at Laissez Faire was solid, but I wouldn’t say that it was especially innovative or special despite its name, the menu wasn’t quite wholly French. Everything was solidly cooked though, and it was delicious. For two, the portions were okay if you order a couple of dishes. The atmosphere is a bit dim with the mood lighting, except for a few seats near the window overlooking King Street. Our server was really friendly, but when we asked for his recommendations, he gave the old “it depends on what you feel like” solidifying the view above.
